I was expecting some rather strange behavior from Republicans, as they look for ways to undermine Obama’s foreign policy in Iraq. After all, they do sedition so well. However, it came as a complete shock to me that a prominent Republican evangelist would so so far as to agree with ISIS that people Obama is trying to protect are worthy of extermination!

it's partially just another "perceived superiority" of the Ghod-on-a-stick crowd. and partially nobody but white Europeans are worth saving.

Right Wing Talibangelists have just reached a new level of religion sanctioned insanity. They have this hair trigger in their ears now, which sounds all alarm bells in their brain as soon as they hear the name "Obama". No other information is processed, they just fill in some blanks in their rant as they go along. Never mind that Obama tries to help Christians as well as Yazidis and and other Muslim fractions that do not want to convert to the radical ISIS brand of Islam and never mind that Fisher forgets that ISIS is a fraction of devil worshippers according to his own rules, and never mind he's spewing the most abominable hatred against men, women and children who are literally fleeing for their lives, Fisher will do anything to make his point which is: it's all Obama's fault (besides being a devil worshipper himself, of course)

I'll never be able to understand America's obsession with the First Amendment when it allows people like Fisher to propagate their hate and bigotry unhindered on a TV screen. There's a limit to anything and Fisher overstepped the boundaries of decency and morality a long time ago.

Psychologists warn us about our self-talk because it can take on a life of its own as we believe what we've told ourselves so often and that also goes for what we say aloud for others to hold us accountable...this man has spent way too much time telling himself the wrong things. It's as bad as hearing voices now that qualifies as hallucinations and delusions as symptoms. Time to get ready for church to cleanse myself from the likes of him.

All Republicans agree with ISIS. It's almost refreshing to hear one admit it. Hey, from blindly backing Israel, towanting to kill all gays, to backing genocide in Iraq - it's not a long step. The common denominator is hate.

The problem with the First Amendment is that if we tried tweaking it, it is the truth that would suffer. The liars, who are in power, would prevail.

"Furthermore, Fischer is flat-out lying. Just like ISIS is persecuting Yazidis, they are also persecuting Chaldean Christians. The Yazidi refugees fled to Mount Sinjar. Thousands of Christian refugees fled to Erbil, where Kurdish Muslims are harboring and protecting them."

It really is disgusting, the lengths to which these fools will go to slur the President. Flat out lies. I'd say you can't get much lower than that, but then each new day, some republican fool does. Satan, huh? You know, I've always had this problem with that guy. He is supposed to be solely dedicated to stealing the souls of the world. Yet he is impossible to find. You'd thinks someone with an agenda like that, all you'd need to do sit down and say, hey, dude, I'd like to talk and he'd be right there with a contract. But that's not how it works. No one has ever seen him either. Then again no one needs to really, fools like Fisher and Rush and Bill and Karl and, well, the list goes on as long as the republican party membership list does, represent ol' Satan just fine every day with their blind hatred. It's times like these when I wished I believed in Hell, because the thought of all those hateful morons in it sorta has a nice tingle to it. Sigh.

My thesaurus is worn out, too, TC - after all this time, you'd think we'd get used to the inane, despicable, horrendous comments the Republicans are so good at making - but no, they continue to shock and repel.

We were listening to 60's music - so much about love and peace. And yet, we had the Berlin Wall, the Vietnam war, civil rights issues, apartheid in Africa, huge lack of women's rights - but we thought we could change things and we DID! We did! And thanks to people like those here, we can do it again... yes, we can....

Bryan Fischer has a long history of making controversial statements without the slightest hint of self-awareness, it does not take long for even the most casual observer to make the conclusion he is a douchebag. This is a prime example, still the Republicans have had a habit of attracting the type of people who really should learning basic social skills: like knowing when to shut up.

Lynn Squance (235)

I was curious to know what the word "Bryan" meant so of course I consulted Wikipedia. Meaning of Bryan I was hoping for something like 'old English for vermin' or something equally derisive. Instead this is what I read:

"This name is thought to be derived from an Old Celtic language word meaning "high", or "noble""

Then I checked out 'Fischer' and got what I expected . . . the occupation of being a fisher in German. But it was very interesting to note that on the list of famous 'Bryan's and famous 'Fischer's, there is no mention of him at all. It isn't until one googles the names together that one gets a result. Read that short piece and you understand that in no way is he "noble" but maybe "high", in the same context that a rotting corpse is high.

He "… strongly opposes what he calls the "morally and intellectually bankrupt theory of evolution"." (Wikipedia) And I would tend to agree with him on that point citing himself, Bryan Fischer, as an example of that moral and intellectual bankruptcy. (Actually I believe in evolution, so don't worry.)

The following exerpt from Wikipedia briefly describes the beliefs of the Yazidi who Fischer calls "devil worshipers". The Yazidi

"The Yazidi believe in God as creator of the world, which he has placed under the care of seven "holy beings" or angels, the "chief" (archangel) of whom is Melek Taus, the "Peacock Angel." In Zoroastrian-like tradition, the Peacock Angel embodied humanity's potential for both good (light) and bad (dark) acts, and due to pride temporarily fell from God's favor, before his remorseful tears extinguished the fires of his hellish prison and he reconciled with God. Some followers of other monotheistic religions mistakenly equate the Peacock Angel with their own unredeemed evil spirit Satan, which has incited centuries of persecution of the Yazidi as "devil worshippers." Persecution of Yazidis has continued in their home communities within the borders of modern Iraq, under both Saddam Hussein and fundamentalist Sunni Muslim revolutionaries. In August 2014 the Yazidi were targeted by the Islamic State, or IS, in its campaign to "purify" Iraq and neighboring countries of non-Islamist influences."

Obviously, Fischer is among those that say the Peacock Angel and Satan are one in the same, thus his derisive remark AND lie that Obama is rescuing devil worshippers and not Christians. Obama has set in motion the rescue of 2 religious minorities in Iraq . . . Chaldean Christians (part of the Roman Catholic church but with differences) and the Yazidi. But then what should we expect from Republicanus/Teabagger pseudo Christians who know nothing but hate!

Talibangicals would rather believe their hated Enemies (radical Islam) than see the truth! Christians are still at risk, but at least they CAN pay a tax for ISIS protection, the Yazidis don't have that option! I would think the fact of a TAX would make Talibangicals Demand bombing ISIS to hell! But the Yazidis are being persecuted for "devil-worshipping", something that just isn't true. Their religion is Older than Islam & Christianity & they believe in one god, plus 7 angels – their version of Lucifer redeems himself by putting out hellfires with his tears…feeling Remorse is something radical Islam & Christians apparently can't understand.

Cal's news post explains this: In Iraq, An Entire Religion Faces Extinction For Something It Doesn't Believe

I couldn't watch all of the septic, vile ramblings of this holier-than-thou teabilly! He thinks he knows everything about every religion and that NONE are as good as his form of "Christianity!!
What happened to "treat others as you would want to be treated"? How about "love the sinner, hate the sin"?
Is there anything that they won't do in the name of THEIR Christ? Only they can make it to heaven, because they are the only ones that practice it "RIGHT"!! They utterly sicken me.
All in all, people, DON'T FORGET and DON'T FORGET TO VOTE IN NOVEMBER!! Whether you vote blue, (hopefully) or vote red, VOTE!!

The man is ignorant as well as evil. I have two friends who will probably send this to me tonight. I have known them since childhood, so I will just delete their e mails. Sadly neither of them have ever ventured outside their small circle and never will, so they are lacking in knowledge about anything except what their preacher tells them. This group was founded to vilify Pres. Obama and that is all they intend to do.

Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association, an anti-gay hate group according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Fischer has used the group's website and its AFR radio network to promote outrageous and false claims about LGBT people, Muslims, Native Americans and African Americans, such as his extreme views blaming gay men for the Holocaust, calling for the criminalization of homosexuality, and calling for the banning of Muslim immigration to the U.S. Bet he's a fun guy at a pub crawl.

Yes, it's August, and the psychologists are on vacation. But, that's no reason for this ass to stop taking his medication, his psychiatrist is probably not on vacation.
But, no, there is really no medication for treating personality disorders. I venture to suggest that these pseudo-Christians all suffer from Narcissistic P.D., being the first to be certain about just how wonderful they, and their chosen (twisted) beliefs are.
Dysfunctional systems attract the narcissistic and anti-social, thus enhancing the level of dysfunction, "and so it goes."

These talking head stuffed shirt agents of business have no idea about anything or any opinion of significance from special knowledge. It is both funny and annoying to watch the US Government’s attempt at psycho-linguistic warfare by Calling ISIS by the term ISIL. The terms both may have been used by the fanatical terrorist organization but the US is now using the technique to try to combat the aesthetic and propaganda appeal of the effective meme that plays on both linguistic preference and cultural familiarity with the Egyptian God out of mythology of ancient times. It just sounds cooler and is more appealing to the Western Consciousness – it is more linguistically appealing. So, the US Military and Government believes that using the term ISIL instead will tend to be less appealing and also by calling the organization a conflicting term – it tends to downplay the state’s (ISIL) degree of permanency. It also disrupts the viewer’s attention span by aggravating the mind’s argument with itself as to what the proper term should be. ISIS is rather like Hydra in the Marvel Comics.
