Some of the most useful and powerful chemotherapy drugs in the world can only be made from plants that are only found rainforests, and as of now, cannot be synthesized. So it is a very important reason to preserve the rainforests.

This is very exciting! I think to myself how stupid people can be about the environment and wonder why news like this is not reported more - or why there's no exploiting medicines connection with forest and nature more.

People have been saying this for years and now the proof is here, a very rare plant, possibly extinct except for the botanical garden, is providing a cure for HIV & cancer.
