North Korea has launched a series of missiles off its eastern coast. The missiles were fired over several hours beginning Saturday morning;a type of short-range Scud missile. No.Korea likes doing this on US holidays!

Of course, they know we're celebraiting a national holiday....The United States and North Korea's neighbors have described four North Korean missile tests Thursday as provocative, and called on the communist country to return to negotiations on de-nuclearization.
The United Nations Security Council imposed a harsh new set of financial sanctions against North Korea last month in response to the nuclear and missile tests. The sanctions allow members to request a search of suspicious cargo to prevent Pyongyang from obtaining material needed for its nuclear and weapons programs.

This really burns me to no end. These people need to be stopped! It is difficult for me to fathom why the rest of the world cannot do something about this insanity.

If Korea keep waving their "red flags and playing fireworks on the US plublic holidays... perhaps it is about time we did like wise... send them an aweosme fireworks display and then we can wave the red blue... works both ways...

Noted. The sad and dangerous part is that Korea is not listening to anyone.

I don't know how to respond to this. Sanctions against this poor failed state are not the answer and neither is the one on one talks with the US demanded by North Korea. I don't even know what North Korea is trying to provoke. North Korea is the biggest enigma in US international relations.

Doing nothing might be the best answer. North Korea is in a state of transition right now, so it would be best to wait until they complete that transition so that we know who we're dealing with.

s long as we sit back idly by, they will keep on doing it! What is our government waiting for? To have one land in The White houses Front Lawn, then take some type of action? President Obama is working on promoting peace with all nations, but some nations just won't go along with that idea, and I think Nort Korea is one of them. Obviously they are listening to hardly anybody on this, so we must take some type of action to resolve this, but doing nothing isn't taking care of the problem/crisis

I agree with everyone who has posted. I also think that the United Nations and the G8 need to get together and come to somme kind of agreement that they will all stand strong against N. Korea. If we all stand strong and use the santions I think it can be a good deterrent. I mean if we are looking at all shipments to N. Korea, they arent likely to be able to get the necessary materials for making more of these weapons. I dont think we can stand qietly by while they make thier transition unless we have some kind of plan in place in case of warfare. Thanks Kathy noted
