It seems we are losing so many of the wildlife we had or perhaps they are just living in other areas because it has gotten warmer. I have that situation at Stuyvesant Cove. The trees have grown so large there in just 3 years We will actually have a sustainable forest. In addition we have acqired seven loons that reside there happily. Each year the wildlife increases and usually we have an addition of some. The birds zip around there and they are totally at home.
So what do you think. Are we losing birds or just moving them to different locales?

Actually, both things are going on - birds are moving - and some are dissapearing...The lucky ones will survive climet change others won't...

And we are not helping them much, are we?

Many of our birds are being lost due to the loss of our wetlands. Also those birds that migrate to South America and then back to North America lost much of their stop over wetlands along the Gulf of Mexico with Katrina. Hopefully, the wetlands will be restored soon and they will have their stopping place once again.

Other birds are just moving to where the weather is better suited to their needs. That's due to climate change. We need to do more to help, but I don't see much in the way of helping in my area. It's just the opposite, unfortunately.
