As NRDC has pointed out, it is not just growth and development - NRDCA has learned even when population has decreased, consumption of petrol has increased due to poor development of communities that are designed for vehicles.

Designing communities for other means of transport is a good first step to ending the madness of dependence on vehicles.

I applaud those communities taking the first step towards a sustainable way of life.
