The $1.2 trillion dollars slashed in Speaker Boehner's proposal would devastate programs like child care, Head Start, K-12 education, Pell grants, job training, elder care, & women's health services. The VOTE IS TOMORROW. Please act TODAY! It's easy.

Quoted:
"Less than one week: that's all the time we have before the country will default on its obligations, if Congress doesn’t act responsibly. Which of our bills won’t we honor when they come due: Social Security benefits owed to retirees? Paychecks for our soldiers? Doctors who provided care to Medicare beneficiaries? Payments to states for grandmothers in nursing homes? You’d think that at a time like this, our leaders would get serious about crafting a fair solution that works for all Americans.

But no, House Speaker John Boehner and conservative House members are doing the opposite. They’re using this moment to try to steamroll a radical agenda through Congress, crushing basic assistance programs for vulnerable Americans in the process. Tell your Member of Congress to vote no on Speaker Boehner’s budget proposal!

The $1.2 trillion dollars slashed over 10 years in Speaker Boehner’s proposal would devastate programs that we care about – programs like child care, Head Start, K-12 education, Pell grants, job training, family planning and other women’s health services, and services for the elderly.

But that’s just the beginning. Speaker Boehner’s plan also requires an additional $1.8 trillion worth of cuts by the end of the year, which forces Congress’ hand even further. Dismantling the Affordable Care Act, cutting Social Security and Medicare benefits for current retirees, slashing Medicaid, or unraveling other key pieces of the safety net for women and families would be all but guaranteed. All this, without promising a single penny raised through additional tax revenues from those with the greatest means to pay.

This is the lowest of the low. We need your help to send a strong message: say ‘no’ to Speaker Boehner’s devastating debt ceiling proposal.

After weeks of negotiating behind closed doors, the House will vote tomorrow! We can’t let the House majority hold the country’s future hostage. Join with us in our campaign to Demand Fair Change, Not Spare Change – time is running out for a responsible and fair solution, and we can’t back down now."

You really must be kidding, right? My legislators, both in the Senate and in the House belong to a little thing called ALEC... and they are all Republican... they don't give a damned about the average American... the poor and needy, the disabled or the elderly, as well as the poor and middle working classes. It sucks, but it's the truth!!

If the repubs really want to cut the deficepts, Obamas plan does it way more than theirs and protects American citizens....smoke & mirrors for Kochs and election grandstanding..check the lastest facts!!....it will make you hair stand up, if you are a Repub...Dem's already look like a "cat on a hot tin roof!"

I am nauseated that my Reps can even find enough common ground with these ba*tards to "negotiate". I am nauseated that THEY have the b*lls to demand things like "Tax Forgiveness Day" for giant corporations, but NOT FOR US! This entire process is completely sickening, and America is being held HOSTAGE by OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS!! I vote we IMPEACH each and every one of the SOB's, and start over fresh, with someone who deserves the job!

And the Repugs have NO interest in cutting the deficit. They are working for their paychecks, and not the ones they get from US.

My Reps, are probably tired of me, I've sent loads of petitions, and have called and left messages with their staff members, but I'll keep on doing it every day, thankfully, both my Senators, and my Congressman, are Democrats, and are against Boner, and the Repubs...So there's at least 3 people who will absolutely vote NO...

Already signed. I don't believe the RepubliCON plan has a chance in hell of being accepted. It is all bull$hit anyway. I do worry that the TeaBagger Reich-wing will try to Force a Default, simply to "make history".. just as they try to re-write history, along with the Constitution, every day.
If you're in the stock market, here's a tip: buy tar, feathers, and farm implements!;)

Shelly and Care For All... I bombard their e-mails EVERY day... I send them 5-6 petitions EVERY day... they're even blocking people from the Facebook pages. Since my surgery, I can no longer speak on the phone or I would be calling them EVERY day... this is just as important to me as it is to anyone else... I've just learned I'm losing my home healthcare worker and my Meals on Wheels the 1st of September, so now I'm wondering what's going to be next... my medicaid, my medicare, or my housing!

Noted and signed and shared! I feel very lucky to have 2 good Senators. But like all of you, I sign things every day, and have sent hard copy letters to Obama and my reps. I do hope we can organize and get rid of the idiots who seem to be in charge in 2012!

My congressman, and old time member, still backs the tea party and I doubt really cares about US citizens. However, today I called his office and gave his secratary an ear full. I do what I can, but then, I don't have millions to stuff in their pockets (like the Koch Brothers).

Message sent - I emailed them all yesterday & got the following email from Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL):

July 27, 2011

Dear Friends,

President Obama asked Americans to contact members of Congress and ask them to reach a fair resolution of the looming government default.

He rightly noted that both political parties bear some responsibility for running up the federal debt – so it’s up to both to end this stalemate. Since the President's speech I've heard from thousands and thousands of folks who responded to his call. I also sensed growing support in Congress to avert a first-ever government default early next week. Thus I’m optimistic about quick passage of some $2.7 trillion in savings and spending cuts – cuts that wouldn’t hurt Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security.

Such a solution strikes me as a fair compromise – and, exactly the kind of thing I think we need right now.

If you want to pass along your thoughts, just click here to send me an email. Also, feel free to ask others to weigh in as well.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Bill Nelson

I think they should vote for the Obama plan. Oh wait. The president hasn't presented a plan...
He has given a few speeches. Maybe they should vote for his speech?

Petition from above signed.

Boehmer is just a very wrong and pig-headed person who should NOT be in Congress.

For those of you who remeber that bush stole the election in 2004 from Ohio.
Boehner is from Ohio. The people in Ohio must get themselves organized and
make sure that the voting machines are working correctly. Boehner needs to go away.

The military budget must be cut by 50%.

The social programs are imporatnt for all Americans.

Call Speaker Boehner's office now at (202) 225-0600 -- and tell him we can't afford to let politics hold our economy hostage. It's time to put ideological demands aside and agree to a balanced approach.
