The film features plenty of examples of lives shattered by corporate greed - but also some inspiring tales of workers who have rebelled.

VENICE, Italy — Michael Moore says his film "Capitalism: A Love Story" is dedicated to "good people ... who've had their lives ruined" by the quest for profit.

After much success at Cannes, Moore premieres the movie Sunday in his first appearance at the Venice Film Festival. It was warmly received at a press showing Saturday evening and won positive reviews. Variety called it one of Moore's "best pics."

"I am personally affected by good people who struggle, who work hard and who've had their lives ruined by decisions that are made by people who do not have their best interest at heart, but who have the best interest of the bottom line, of the company, at heart," Moore told reporters Sunday.

Capitalim with the euphemistic epithet of Free Trade has no heart or conscience. It manufactures nuclear, chemical and biological weapons to kill millions of people, not caring whose fighting as long as the bottom line shows a profit. At the same time it's ravishing the environment, pristine wilderness areas, breeding grounds, wildlife habitats, and likewise polluting our land, rivers, lakes and oceans. It is enslaving the world --killing the unions, spreading propaganda on their own corporate main stream media. Moving factories, laying off people, canceling their health care and benefits, and destroying everything in its path over the almighty dollar.

But I'm sure Michael will show all this in this acclaimed documentary. Watch for it in your area. I'm hoping it will be in Nashville soon.

Capitalism: A Love Story, Michael Moore’s new documentary, will be release by Overture Films on October 2, 2009. Capitalism will explore the root causes of the global economic meltdown and take a comical look at the corporate and political shenanigans that culminated in what Moore described as “the biggest robbery in the history of this country” - the massive transfer of U.S. taxpayer money to private financial institutions. Moore has made three of the top six highest-grossing documentaries of all time including Cannes Palme d’Or winner Fahrenheit 9/11, 2008 Academy Award(r) nominee Sicko, and Bowling for Columbine, the Academy Award(r) winner for Best Documentary in 2003. His debut film was 1989’s groundbreaking Roger and Me.

Thank goodness for people like Michael Moore - and for those of you who have commented here, and certainly for you, Boots - I'd be all for cloning if we could just clone this bunch.

He's finally outed himself as a full-fledged socialist with this latest shlockumentary.
Reuters reported:

Capitalism is evil. That is the conclusion U.S. documentary maker Michael Moore comes to in his latest movie "Capitalism: A Love Story," which premieres at the Venice film festival Sunday.

Blending his trademark humor with tragic individual stories, archive footage and publicity stunts, the 55-year-old launches an all out attack on the capitalist system, arguing that it benefits the rich and condemns millions to poverty.

"Capitalism is an evil, and you cannot regulate evil," the two-hour movie concludes.
Obviously, this is a role he plays in the movies and not in real life.
Here is some information on Moore's residence in northern Michigan:

Just some data for if you run a piece on Michael Moore's new movie.
Capitalism sure has been evil for Mike. For reference, Torch Lake is among the two or three most desirable places to live in Northern Michigan. Normally Moore says that Traverse City is his adopted hometown, or lies and says that he lives in Bellaire, like he has some kind of log cabin in the woods.
Nope, his home is an expensive house on 150 ft of lake frontage.

Ugh! And your point, Nancy?

Must all people who illuminate the problems behind capitalism be POOR to have any merit in your book? (And if they were poor, and unknown . . . WHO would back their films?)

Suchabuncha!

If Capitalism hadn't been responsible for interventions of war and genocide right at 60 times since WW ll, 6 millions-plus natives incapable of defending themselves wouldn't have died. For instance places not unlike Iraq and Afganistan for the oil and gas that's taken well over a million lives so far and costing the tax payers $3 trillion. Not the war moguls that start the wars, but the middle class working people that have to pay for it with ultimate sacrifices.

Through the School of Americas-SOA,now going by WINSEC, trained assasins passing through Ft.Bennings,Ga. have used their teaching there to lead the coup d'etats to overthrow Democratically elected governments all over Latin America. Then those elected are replaced with ruthless dictators in bed with the capitalists. This way the capitalists move in and take the peoples resourses giving the dictators a commission and commiting to help keep him and his regime in power. And this is not in places like Saudi Arabia, Russia or China, but defenseless countries like Venezuela,Ecuador, Paraguay,Cambodia,Laos,Haiti,Ecuador,Ghana,Boliva and on and on. IMO that's insidious. George Orwell was so prophet, War is Peace, Peace is War, and Good is Evil, and Evil is good. Reason being 95% profess to be Christians....yet continue to graciously support such murder and killing in the good name of Free Trade, which is about as hypocritical as it gets.
