Less than a year out from Election Day 2012, voters remain overwhelmingly pessimistic about the U.S. economy and the general direction of their nation, which is translating into negative public disapproval ratings against Obama's re-election chances.

President Obama has most certainly failed miserably at multiple levels and upon multiple occasions; especially of late in regard to his administration 'transparency' promise, ie: Obama's Fast and Furious Gun Walking scandal and including Obama's Solyndra scandal, which have allowed $535 million dollars to disappear into bankruptcy (Solyndra) and an untold number of deaths connected to the 'Gun Walking' incident (still in progress) that have all happened on Obama's Watch! ...

And the Obama administration and everyone connected to these aforementioned scandals has mysteriously developed some sort of collective amnesia all of a sudden.

Questionable legal maneuvers were immediately initiated to seal-up Grand Jury records and other fancy damage control foot-work has been set into motion, in order to keep the public in the blind.

With more questions than answers into Obama's actual intent and at what level of awareness and even participation, then is it any wonder that his re-election chances are still hanging by a thread ...

And perhaps will even continue to dwindle by the day.

Their is much more mainstream existing evidence to support the perception of Obama as being a failure, than there is any existing evidence to reflect him as being a success.

Only hardcore Liberals and hardcore Democrats will try to disagree with reality, but don't let them fool you, because if you will notice the fact that they NEVER produce any mainstream proof to back-up their counter-claims, which immediately exposes their feeble attempts at political self-protectionism.

... Would America survive Four More Years of Perpetual Gridlock ... No matter whose fault it is???

Have regretted my vote since he picked a good friend of the AIPAC as Chief of Staff. It was always clear to me that he was a Politician. Just had hoped he wouldn't forget he got his start in The South Side of Chicago.

More say that no one on the GOP/tea bagger list of candidates deserve even a first term. I always wondered how anyone could support Dubya and wanted the GOP/TeaBaggers to go with causing gridlock in congress...after all they and Dubya are why we are in the shape we are in today as a nation of crisis for profit sake isn't it. ..thus it appears that two or more wrongs don't make a right....and the 'right' ..politically speaking.. has nothing better to offer that's for damn sure.
So now what ?

Jae A (316)
Saturday December 10, 2011, 10:34 am
Obama came to the White House via the overwhelming majority of those who knew this nation could not survive another year, much less four more years, of the ones like those of Dubya and the Republican's previous eight years. No way the nation is stupid enough as a whole to go with any GOP/TeaBagger candidates again any time soon, if ever again, so this next election does seem to be a shoe in for Obama, unless the madness from the right does one hell of a better snow job than Obama did this time around....which there is always that possible I suppose...after all they are the master of B.S./lies and deception so who knows....maybe there still are enough stupid people in the country to take us into darkness and over all corruption of the GOP/Rightwing/TeaBagger/KKK/White Surpremist/Skin Head party/groups via their rightwing/independent candidates to date....but I for one hope not. Other choices..?..none out there that stand a chance in the next election that I know of..not a green party or any other that I see. Certainly no Independent one that is any less Corporate connected and war profiteering than many of those on the left.... and especially not any less, without a doubt to the majority of us ,than all of those on the 'right' ...At least none that I've heard and or aware of.

Personally I believe our best bet is joining/supporting the Occupy movements around the nation today...and not wait on another election to have our voices heard. We must also do the best that we can through the Occupy movements to not let those on the far left continue to divide us for the sake of those in power on all sides. Just more effort to stop the Occupy movements coming from the rightcrazywing expected. Those on the left in power positions knew that would be the case, so those on it who also want to keep us divided also....and no doubt there are those on the left as well, did not need to bother in that effort. Now is our chance to stop their efforts and unit for the nation via the Occupy movements...not taking political sides ..and do so now...not later,in my opinion.

Micahel D (1021)
Saturday December 10, 2011, 11:22 am
Occupy is surely the movement I've felt broiling inside of the people for many years now.

Jae A (316)
Saturday December 10, 2011, 11:40 am
Totally agree with you there Michael Dewey. I really do believe the Occupy movements are the nations best direction to take at this time. Maybe Obama will be forced to pay attention and get on track working for the he promised.... during his next four years..... if enough people unit and make our voices heard in the halls of Congress for starters. There is where our messages need to hit home, at this time, the hardest I think.

I don't regret my vote Michael...not when I think back to the alternative McInsane and Bimbo Palin....They would have been the fastest way possible into a depression and total crazy... along with almost instant shredding of our constitution without a doubt in my mind as to that being so.

Obviously Marilynn M hasn't considered the alternatives to date as to that of Obama.

Best we unit I think, and shape him up and not just throw our nation totally to the corporate whores and GOP dogs who are doing their all presently to take the nation into fascism or some form of it currently. Just need to stop Obama from pandering to them [GOP/TeaBaggers/other crazywingers] and from being their best candidate at this time. No need to wait...join/support and Occupy until Congress, especially those on the right, stop playing games over an election regardless of all cost.

Nancy Roussy (79)

Yes the democrats are a bunch of spineless idiots but what is the alternative? The alternative are the republicans and they are a bunch of lying ignorant arrogant crazy demented deranged fools. I don't know about any of you but if I had a choice between these two groups I would pick the spineless idiots instead of the lying ignorant arrogant crazy demented deranged fools without hesitation!

obama's people have now let 2 spy networks get taken apart, with many people killed and one of our drones captured. why doesn't he just give our secrets away and get it over with. the man and his choices of people for his cabinet are useless. they haven't a clue and it shows. most of his cabinet haven't even held real jobs. they are just like him they lead marches. maybe if they went and pitched tents with the occupy folks we would be safer. they sure shouldn't be running our country. the germans don't want him helping the eu either. they think he's a fool. one term is more than enough of obama. dems want a chance they better run somebody against him.

David C (147)
Saturday December 10, 2011, 7:29 pm
deserves a 2nd term more than Mr Bush did...perhaps even more than Mr. Bush deserved a 1st.....

2nd, while he's not been perfect, he has done lots of good things that he and the dems don't speak up about enough....he has also done some less good/bad things, but still lots better than the alternatives....

3rd, if you supported him before, who will you support that will do more, now????? Sanders, Feingold, Grayson....none running, Green Party has great progressive ideas, but can't see them winning (maybe could win some more progressive states, but won't get much support in red states)......

do you really think the any of the Republican candidates will work for the people??????? No, they only want the people to work for them......

All blacks voted for Obama because half of him was 100% them.
Whites votes for him to give a black man to prove himself capable
of fairly running the country. Obama did no better than Bush.

But, no matter who voted or for what reason it was all rigged & a
setup by the Bilderberg Group that he would win. Michelle O. is a member
of the Bilderberg group as much as she is of some muslim group.

In my opinion nothing much is done honestly in any political arena.
And, Obama's rigged winning was a means of making up for the days
of slavery. I doubt very much and dead slaves are aware we now have
a president who is by all accounts half of what they once were.

But, the truly sad thing about this particular election year there
just isn't one candidate worth a pound of salt to vote for.

How abour we write in John Echohawk as president! This country could
stand for once to have a Native American as president for payback of
having his own country stolen from him.

It is long long over due!!!!!!

I read the comments posted here and I support your rights to oppose anyone that is in office that you see as a detriment. That having been said? Good luck with Newt or Mitt or Ms. Wannabe-Palin Bachman. Truly, if you support the reversal of Roe v Wade, the elimination of the middle class, the empowerment of the very wealthy BY the very wealthy, the elimination of Social Security, the pursuit of America as not a power but as a global bully, the repeal of researching and enacting energy sources that do not pad the pockets of the fuel barons and their henchmen, the disregard of the importance of educating our youth since we can put them to work at 14 (10, if some of the GOP presidential contenders have their way) and tax their menial asses (hey, SOMEbody has to flip burgers and sell Big Gulps), the annihilation of the very historic documents that define us as a nation, the squelching of said documents so as to cause amnesia for the masses lest they stand up, EN MASS, and say "Wait one damned minute, I have these rights and you work for me, you are elected by "We the People", you over-paid, under-worked tax-payer-money-sucking pea-brained double-dealing citizen-bashing humanity-lacking biped version of a light-and-life stealing black hole!" ....
If you believe in any opponent poised to run against President Obama, I urge you to not only vote for him or her but to campaign as well. At least maybe, finally, our people of this country are catching on to the importance of their right to vote. Please use it while you still have it.
Obama may not have solved all the problems that sat at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue when he took up residence but he's giving it one hell of a try. Maybe you folks would be happier if Cheney was running? Or Jeb Bush? I can see it now: Jeb Bush/2012: Part III of the Bush Saga: The Nightmare continues.

The U.S political system is awash with corruption and needs to be overhauled...I fear that this will never happen...and a military nation will become evident when widespread revolution is apparent...there is only so much that the people can take...evidence by the occupiers...even though they have not been taken seriously...but there is only so much the government WILL take, and as the one percent fight back...the government will use this as an excuse to pull all stops and stop civil unrest wit the military might they bring home from overseas...I believe this to be true, it will begin with petty laws that infringe on everyone's constitutional rights in the name of national safety...

Personally i do believe that the Obama administration done a terribly job and as Commander in chief a position that warrants a high degree of honesty and integrity Barack Obama has fail miserably.
He single handedly pulled the economy, political world standing and has done anything he promised in his political promise before he took office.

If Obama would Nationalize oil and energy, it would have me flipping a coin. Oh the nut just killed in Libya was no saint. But the CIA went in and stirred things up there, after he was going to Nationalize their oil. After it was said the rebels had a State Bank a month after the bombings started, it was all right out of John Perkins's Book, ''Confessions of an Economic Hit Man'where he revealed lots of the dirty deals Corporate Empire has profited from, while leaving poorer Nations in debt to the US so they can be its to speak, while Empire rips the countries natural resources. Oh the nature lovers here on care2 have always been fine with me, from my start here. Its just that there are some basic problems about taking care of humans, before Mother Earth will be understood as needed. I can understand why people slaving away for trash, really don't give a damn. Since Corporations are now people, as I've now heard, how do we find its conscience? That will take honest media reports, instead of the bs we have been fed.

We need to take care of the planet as well as seek economic justice for people. Already people are suffering or dying from climate change -- usually the very poor due to the actions of the very rich. There'll be no economy if the planet's surface temp rises too much. Economy and ecology are inextricably linked.

Obama is a horrible disappointment. I donated time to him because I am from Chicago and I hate Sarah Palin so much. So if we don't vote for Obama then who??? The republicans are even worse when it comes to guns, war, animal rights and environment. At least with Obama there will be some women's rights. I am sorry, but in a way this is insane. What is the purpose of this article? Most of us know all of this. The last thing I want is to stop people from voting or vote for someone worse! Who in their right mind actually thinks ANYONE hungry enough to become our president will have all good intentions??? That would just be plain foolish! ANYONE who would want to be president is going to be a scum. We must then vote for the lesser scum of the two. Obama is the lesser scum. Sad but true. We must be realistic in our expectations. I want Obama to be the person he promised us he would be, but anyone who actually believed that he would do all he said is a fool! No politician does all they say they will! They never have and never will! So at this point come election time we will have two devils to chose from and I will pick the devil I know than the one I don't. I will sadly vote and support Obama as all of the other options would be even worse. We must be realistic in our expectations and expecting a politician to be a good person all of the time is just down right foolish! I wish there was better, but right now there is not! We must suck it up and deal with what we have and make sure that our "leaders" know we are watching and keep signing letters and making it clear we will not ignore the bad behavior. I am ALWAYS up for petitions, but I do not want to make our very bad problem of no good option for president worse. The White House have a new petition section on the site now. We can email and call and speak our mind, but please lets not drive people to not vote or vote for even bigger scum! I am thinking of "W" when saying this!
