Not a Palin fan, but with a National unemployment rate close to 10%, Alaska apparently is doing better than many other states.

You are right, Paul, but Alaska should be doing better than the rest of the country because most of their industry is in OIL extraction and supplying McDonald's with fish and the Japanese with crab.

I just how too many of you seem to think that Alaska just has all these ooodles of jobs because of oil.
So wrong. The oil industry is also cutting jobs.
It pays to research before making assumptions.
We ABSOLUTELY DO NOT do better than the rest of the country.
The crab boats are seasonal, most jobs are seasonal as they are related to the tourist industry.


We pay a cost for every single item we buy or use here. Why? Because everything that is shipped here has an added fuel cost. Why? Because you ALL down there in the lower 48 add that nice little fee...and it isn't free, nor cheap. It is even added to the freaking tiolet paper, and lightbulbs. You think is's free? I welcome you both to come up here and try to survive on your income here. You wouldn't last a year. Many do not. Many leave before the year is up.
You need to investigate your charges before stating a comment that is inaccurate, and way off base.
