Who, pray who, will save the houseflies? And our sanity?

as i said on change.org... the fly isn't the point. it's being mindful of the little things we do out of habit, and aspiring to inflict less damage in every area of our lives.

noted and still as much as I agree with PETA on some things, this was just plain ridiculous... with all of our other issues at hand with animal abuse, our environment, our health care... and the list is endless, the President swatting that fly was not out of being "cruel" to animals. Flies are nasty, they carry all kinds of diseases, and the majority of us do the same thing... that is why they make fly swatters...

After reading the article and finding it very interesting, well written and covering just about all the pertinent facts, I think it's about all been said. Let's get on to another topic. We are giving PETA entirely too much free press for this one normal, human reaction to a fly. It's a fly folks, a fly. Are we now going to spend precious time on this non-topic?!

As the article so aptly pointed out, you have to put things into proper persective, and in the greater scheme of things, there are certainly more pressing things to worry about than PETA's reaction to the swat of a fly.

I am proud to feel strongly that animals deserve ethical treatment.I support PETA and beleave that showing compassion for animals is an admirable trait. Animal abusers are the luatics.

At a very young age my Nanna (bless her dearest soul) told me every creature on this Earth has a purpose. I questioned her about flies, for what are their reasons?? She replied "They are here to make us clean".

Sorry, but I don't like PETA being trashed! Yes they do go overboard with some issues and yet, there is a reason for why they are doing it: to get our attention and, thank God, they do! Just think, without their clandestine videos we would have no idea what cruelty goes on in slaughter houses, puppy mills, etc.! And their outrageous antics at fashion shows is to make us aware of the hineous fur trade! I am very grateful to PETA as without them I would still be ignorant about so many issues.

This was a little overboard for me, but where would our level of consciousness about animal rights be without PETA. They have a message and we all should take from it what we need and leave the rest as long as there is no harm done.
