Oh Gawd! Not again!! These corporations will sell anything to unsuspecting consumers to make a buck I fell for any pet owners who may have been affected. I recommend making your own dog food.. Its not that hard, just look up the recipes & make sure to buy the nutrient supplements they need!

It's been years since I have had any pets and the other day I was thinking that maybe it would be best that if one day I ever get another one that I will make their own food, looks like I had reasons thinking about that the other day.

All proabably out of the China and Asian nations! Can't wait till we get a real POTUS who puts their foot down and tells China and the rest of these Asian markets to take their products and behavior towards animals AND their own people, to shove it where the sun don't shine, and sideways at that....Oh wait their arse's are already sideways!

Thank you for posting Deb! And this is exactly why I make my dog her food. This is sickening. How many times does this happen? Too many. Look it's a no brainer. We feed ourselves, we make ourselves food, and it's not that challenging making our pet's food. The pet food industry is an industry and would have us believe it's some rocket science cooking up a meal- no it's not! So much great info out there on easy and nutritious ways to feed our pets.

Pet food should fall under the same rules and regulations as any other foods! I am tired of hearing about recalls - and China delivering treats that are fatal for some dogs.
In memory of my Pablo - who died due to complications after eating Chicken jerkey - at 6 years old.

Thank you. Although I am a cat person, this is likely to concern cats or other animals either, so it is a piece of valuable and noteworthy info.

Selling dog/cat (etc.) food often seems like a profitable business, in which a number of veterinarians themselves are involved while being great advocates of it, even forcing it upon people as "the best foodstuff" for their animals -- but, sadly, the reality could be different. Needless to say, such cases as the one described are truly terrible (just the thought of one's animal friends getting sick from food is scary) and should not occur... While one would be inclined to think that avoiding processed food in absolute terms represents an easy and recommendable solution, since it is possible to cook for animals and thus know exactly the contents of their food, it is not always so: Firstly, people have to be familiar with this or that animal's nutritional needs to do so well; secondly, and especially, in case of illness there may arise a need to feed a special veterinary diet, which is supposed to meet the sick animal's needs while being part of the treatment, but is processed per se (i.e., paradoxically, still potentially harmful...)... This is not to say that the knowing and responsible should avoid feeding home-made food -- quite the opposite is true, I believe; I just feel it is necessary to view things in its entirety and consider all aspects of the question.

In my humble opinion, if processed dog/cat food is used (at all), it should always be the highest quality one that comes from a trustworthy and expert producer. It does not pay to try to save a couple of bucks by getting cheap food while compromising the health of animals.
