Information about the commercial whaling carried out by Japan in Antarctica. The Institute of Cetacean Research sounds like a whale protection and research body, but this inapt name is used by Japanese whalers.

Since the Japanese government cynically used the kind tsunami relief donations from the wider world to refund Antarctic Sanctuary whaling, you may expect that the recent significant increase in taxes there will also have some funneling of cash to this abhorrent endeavor.

For all the Sea Shepherd does, expect the Japanese whaling fleet to continue next year.

How will YOU respond? Many species were brought to the brink of extinction, this solely through human direct killing. Whaling nations merely wait until the slow reproductive cycles bring back some species, and you may expect those nations mentioned in the article to restart or continue in force their efforts to profit financially in whatever way they can through commercial killing of whales.
