Here we go again, steamrolling over the First Nations, grabbing the "gold ring" right out of their hands. Wait until the uranium is mined out then give them the land back! Plus the residue left could be dangerous. Also more uranium means more Depleted uranium, means more DNA injuries all over the world.

The world's use of uranium must be curtailed. There are a few medical uses for very small amounts of uranium but most uranium is used for nuclear weapons or nuclear power plants. The production of nuclear weapons must be stopped as they have no positive use on the planet. And the use of nuclear fuels to produce power is one of the most ignorant and foolish things that we can do. Nuclear power mortgages the future for quick gains in the present.

Nuclear wastes from spent fuel rods will be deadly dangerous for up to 250,000 years. Plutonium-239 with a 24,000 year half-life will last the longest of the isotopes. Even if we find a 'safe' place to store the wastes (which is not currently settled), they will be dangerous to humanity for roughly 25 times the length of recorded human history.

Considering our history of violence and war, by creating nuclear wastes we are leaving a legacy of deadly toxic materials to thousands of generations who will be responsible for guarding the wastes from warring contingents, as well as preventing environmental contamination.

Those in favor of nuclear can show their support by living next to a nuclear facility, and by donating organs and other bodily parts to those injured or maimed by radioactive.

It is obvious the people in favor of nuclear do not want to get involved personally as they know how deadly it is.

Thank you Elisa. As an Ontarion myself, who would want to live in areas where radioactivity overides the theory of relativity to sustainability of life. This is not the generation of 100% safety and health amongst humankind. Much more research needs to be done before capitalising on Nuclear resources. Highly noted!

Thanks, Elisa, for bringing this to everyones attention.

I live near the Six Nations (Brantford is named after Joseph Brant, chief of the Mohawks) and know the Natives are having an extremely difficult time getting their land back. It's choice and many greedy hands are trying to grab it. Our government, and too many other people, dismiss them as 5th class citizens.

Instead of mining uranium, the government should be developing solar/wind
energy or something not damaging.

Money rules. Life means little.
