Thanks, Sue!

I'll be so glad when government officials admit that the "War on Terror" started with the U.S. Government terrorizing their own citizens. It would be a real stretch for that to everhappen; but I believe it would be just the come-uppance they need in order to force them into some humility and honesty.

The more people see this and learn the facts, the more pressure we can bring on our government to expose and convict on this LIE!!!

We the People do not have control of this Country. It is in control of a few devious hands and they have done a fine job of covering up, putting out information to disuade otherwise, putting out information to take our attention off the situation to look at something else, and they bank on the majority of the people who "believe" that these things just do not happen HERE, maybe someplace else but not here.
Now, perhaps people didn't want to believe average citizen that has been bringing things to everyones attention, many want to think they are just a bunch of kooks running around, sort of like those hippies in the past who were shouting for cleaner environment, question authority, that the reason given to the public for the Vietnam War was bullshit, so on and so forth. The Powers to be said the hippies didn't know anything, they were just a bunch of dirty kids, communist even, anything to discredit the "thinkers" and their ideas.
Now there are more and more highly educated people, people in intelligence, people that have held important positions, people of knowledge coming forth with more information. Are they also to be considered kooks? We are being used like pawns on a chest set.

This is the second time this post has crossed my path. But why hasn't a terrorist yet to spill the truth out? Its been a question of mine all the 911 posters have brought to my mind.

Great comments guys. Perhaps now we can actually see some real justice occurring, Holder is looking into Bush and torture.

WASHINGTON – Attorney General Eric Holder is considering whether to appoint a criminal prosecutor to investigate the Bush administration's interrogation practices, a controversial move that would run counter to President Barack Obama's wishes to leave the issue in the past.

Holder plans to make a final decision within the next few weeks, a Justice Department official told The Associated Press on Saturday night. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on a pending matter.

Justice Department spokesman Matt Miller said Holder planned to "follow the facts and the law."

"We have made no decisions on investigations or prosecutions, including whether to appoint a prosecutor to conduct further inquiry," he said. "As the attorney general has made clear, it would be unfair to prosecute any official who acted in good faith based on legal guidance from the Justice Department."

A move to appoint a prosecutor is certain to stir partisan bickering that could create a distraction to Obama's efforts to push health care and energy reform. Obama has repeatedly expressed reluctance to having a probe, saying the nation should be "looking forward and not backwards" when it came to Bush-era abuses.

Newsweek magazine, which first reported the development on Saturday, said Holder was aware of the political implications of having a probe and preferred not to create unnecessary trouble for the White House. Still, the attorney general was troubled by what he learned in reports about the treatment of prisoners at the CIA's "black sites."

The probe would focus in part on whether CIA personnel tortured terrorism suspects after Sept. 11, 2001. Holder has said those who acted within the government's legal guidance will not be prosecuted, but has left open the possibility of pursuing those who went beyond the guidance and broke the law.

Holder has discussed with his staff the possibility of a prosecutor, saying he needed someone with "gravitas and grit," the magazine reported. In the end, the attorney general asked for a list of 10 candidates, five from within the Justice Department and five from outside.

"I hope that whatever decision I make would not have a negative impact on the president's agenda," Holder told Newsweek. "But that can't be a part of my decision."

In all of this, even if Holder does open a probe into these issues, I have to wonder if they'll get the right guys?! The ones at the top have so many layers of covering between them and the rest of the government, will the big fish get prosecuted or the little guys carrying out the orders. I don't trust that anyone will have much luck getting through to netting Cheney, Rove and the rest of their crew.

My biggest worry though is that this will all take too much focus on the day to day running of the country, and getting any other work done by Obama. I would hate to see our country run scatter shot all over the place and in the end accomplish nothing but build up more bills, and create more questions thn they get answered. Holder is going to have to have a lot of guts, but yet walk a fine line with this issue now at hand.

WASHINGTON – Six months into Barack Obama's presidency, his Democratic allies are pushing for twin investigations into Bush-era torture and anti-terrorism policies.

Two senators including the head of the intelligence committee suggested Sunday that the prior administration broke the law by concealing a CIA counterterrorism program from Congress.

The assertion that Vice President Dick Cheney ordered the concealment came amid word that Attorney General Eric Holder is contemplating opening a criminal probe of possible CIA torture.

A move to appoint a criminal prosecutor is certain to stir partisan bickering that could prove a distraction to Obama's efforts to push ambitious health care and energy reform.

Obama has repeatedly expressed reluctance to probing alleged Bush-era abuses. He resisted an effort by congressional Democrats to establish a "truth commission," saying the nation should be "looking forward and not backwards."

Regarding the 8-year-old counterterrorism program, the Bush administration's failure to notify Congress "is a big problem, because the law is very clear," said Senate Intelligence Committee chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

Congress should investigate the secrecy because "it could be illegal," Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said.
