Stand with women in Afghanistan
Afghan women are fighting for a better future. Your signature can help them to do that. Amnesty International is calling for the Australian government, the international community and the Afghan Government to protect girls' and women’s human rights and ensure women are central to the reconciliation and peace talks.
I stand with Amnesty International and call on Australia, the international community and the Afghan Government to ensure women are central to peace and reconciliation negotiations, have meaningful political representation, have strengthened capacity in public life and have their safety and human rights protected.
I call on all Australian parties to commit to progressing the status of women and girls in Afghanistan in their 2013 Federal Election Foreign Policies.

Grrrr....I tried signing, as I really believe in this, and it said the caption was wrong that I typed in. So I went back to type in the new caption and it won't submit. I know the first caption I typed was correct, so I'm not sure if signature went through or not, but it won't let me do it again.

I tried 3 times before my signing was finally approved.
You mustn't enter a post code: when I used my US postcode it woudn't work; wouldn't consider it a valid postcode & when I used my Paris postcode, it wouldn't work either.
I was only able to sign when I left the postcode blank! SO - Do Not Enter Any Postcode. It is not mandatory to enter one. I suspect only Australian post codes work.
"Thank you for standing with women in Afghanistan."
Thank you, Abdessalam, for giving us the opportunity to support & defend Afghan women.

Thank you Abdessalam. I had the same problem as Lucy K. until I like her left the postcode blank. Women of Afghanistan you are right as right can be. Education is the way out of the 17th century discrimination. I support your efforts and courage. Live long and prosper.

"Thank you for standing with women in Afghanistan." I also stand with the women in India. I just read in today's newspaper that a five-year old girl had been locked away in a room by a 24-year old man and raped repeatedly over the course of several days. The man left her for dead, but when she was found, she was in very serious condition. I can't even imagine the pain, suffering and terror that poor child experienced! Change can't come soon enough for the poor women of these countries!

Thank you for the forward Dandelion..signed with please. We have an Organisation here in Oz (sorry don't recall their name) but they contact me a couple of times a year by email. We send collective emails of encouragement to "The Women of Palestine" to let them know that they are not forgotten - the group delivers them personally on their visits..maybe the same can be done for "The Women of Afghanistan" and any other Country where daily life faces these struggles

Good idea Ros. With many not having access to the outside world it can be very helpful to know that one is not forgotten or that even their suffering is known at all to the outside world.

Persistence paid off - on the 6th time around (today!) it finally took! Thanks :) I realized that they would reject it with the unstarred information - so when I corrected it, and was rejected for not filling in the code correctly on two more occasions? got it right -- ugh! Glad I could raise my voice!
