Former CIA chief Michael Hayden agrees with Romney that Iran and their pursuit of nuclear weapons is our greatest threat -- and says that Obama has been largely ineffective at stopping the mullah's march to nuclear proliferation.

From the article:

In fact, as Hayden points out — and as Romney also argued during the debate — the toughening of sanctions originated in Congress, not in the White House. “They have really held the president’s feet to the fire,” Hayden remarks. Hayden also criticized Obama’s efforts to provide some exemptions to the sanctions for some of Iran’s trading partners. Hayden told Newsmax that those exemptions undermine the pressure of the sanctions, as well as the symbolic unity that magnifies that pressure.

Iran will not stop their nuclear weapons program and Israel, not the US, will most likely bomb Iran for it. It is not a question of “if” but “when”. Actually, I’m surprised they have waited this long. Israel has bombed both Iraq and Syria in the past. “Operation Opera” was a surprise Israeli air strike carried out in June 1981, which destroyed a nuclear reactor under construction 17 kilometers southeast of Baghdad, Iraq. “Operation Orchard” was an Israeli airstrike on a nuclear reactor in the Deir ez-Zor region of Syria carried out in September 2007. Arab reaction to both incidents was slim, also known as the "synchronized silence of the Arab world." Outside experts and media commentators have filled the data vacuum by offering their own diverse interpretations about what precisely happened. Western commentators took the position that the lack of official non-Arab condemnations of Israel's action, threats of retaliation against Israel, or even professions of support for the Iraqi and Syrian government or people must imply that their governments tacitly supported the Israeli action. Even Iranian officials have not formally commented on the Israeli attacks.

It would be nice if Israel were to solve the problem of a nuclear Iran but I do not think we can count on them to do it. Even if it was willing to brave the condemnation of the world and possible war with Iran I do not think that it has the resources to stop Iran's extensive and carefully protected nuclear program.

Billie, et al: Getting your 3.7 cents/post? Finally the economy turned a corner, thanks to Prez Obama. The deficit is down to $11Tr this past week, without cutting necessary social programs; unemployment is way down if you haven't heard, market is up and going strong. And you all want a change in the WHouse. With Bishop Romney, who wants the presidency as the culmination of his church Mission, does not have the least qualifications to be president of ALL people. WE will be at war with Iran within the year and I sincerely hope you will be one of the first to join the military, but I doubt it. You think Adelson, who also funded Netanyahu, is going to sit back peacefully? No way. He wants that 200% return on his contributions to Romney. Israel will give the moneyed the path to the Middle East oil fields. Before voting, check Bishop Romney's record as governor of MA, leaving the state with a $1B deficit, 47th in job, compamies left the state because of him. NO, in less than 4 years we'll be under a Fourth Reich. Check Romney's church, check his vetoes that were overriden by the legislature. Choose very wisely. Your and our lives depend on it.

The US has had two preemptive wars against a Muslim country recently and I don’t think they want to start a third. The US taxpayer gives Israel $3 billion dollars in aid every year. Time to get some return on that investment, let the Israelis destroy the Iranian nuclear reactor.

Israel is planning a military strike against Iran’s nuclear program before the November elections, security sources in Israel have claimed. British officials say prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has begun a process of ‘sounding out’ his voters to gauge support for airstrikes and build a case for military action. If Israel jets show up in Iranian airspace, it will most likely happen while Obama is busy gathering the Jewish vote. The election is the perfect window for a strike on Iran’s nuclear program, because Team Obama will be too tied down on the Romney Front to do much damage to Israel.

TURNED A CORNER MARY? What the hell are you smoking? I have to ask because nothing has worked to spark your economy. There are no jobs. You are up to your eyeballs in debt and THIS administration hasn't got a clue what to do about it. Why would anyone want more of this for the next four years?

The CIA does not have a history of peace, more a history manipulating sides to their own end as they imagine it and have no regard of others cultural and ethnic/religious needs. We (in and outside America) are already suffering and some dying because of CIA mess-ups, do not allow them to make the call on anything please.
