Three years after the BP oil spill, new truths come to light--from deep down inside the ocean. After the spill, BP secured about a third of the world's supply of dispersants, namely Corexit 9500 and 9527

Noted, tweeted, shared, noted, tweeted, shared signed and signed ten other petitions, tweeted and shared them also. To me the horror is BP is receiving subsidies from our government so they are using our money and not all of it to pay their fines against us. Thus, the victims (us) are paying ourselves.

The part that really shocked me was that after the US had them stand up and explain and did the so called punishment within 6 weeks of it all handed BP another 6 contracts and that to me is out of line they showed no respect what so ever but it looked good to public at the time. Its all about money and greed and as long as the government get their cut they do not care.

Thank you for posting. I reposted this in fb and groups. Although I had read about this not too long ago, it's once again mindshattering that this is not widely publicized. Kill off the sea life, kill off the oceans, it's bye bye. O but that's right - we're not part of nature ! Utter insanity. Massive delusional insanity.

Noted. Can't say I'm surprised to read this, but I am truly appalled. Reminds me of Audrey Coppard's kid book from the 1970s "Who Has Poisoned the Sea?". We learn little and change less. :(

I'm disgusted. On the local news here (Joplin, MO.) at the time this happened, they did a story of a guy who had invented a product that would work kind of like a towel that would soak up the oil, they could squeeze it out and save the oil and there would be no eco damage. BP turned him down. They must have had stock in Corexit. It really pisses me off.

I'm not really surprised. BP has shown time and again that they clearly don't care about the environment's welfare. And they never really get punished for it. It's sickening.

Gladly signed. (Click the blue box "Take Part" within the article, then click again to sign). Noted w/thanks, James.
Although the truth has been posted in various places about the Corexit, (and the fact that crude oil becomes 52 times more toxic when combined w/Corexit), since this happened, mainstream media hopped on the "let's all go down and show our support for the Gulf" bandwagon. Have they eaten the poisoned seafood? Did they stay long enough to notice some of the symptoms that longtime residents have? All the media did was try to turn it into a "rally" rather than call out BP and their noxious tactics. Even the president I've voted for twice just turned it into a photo op. As I was reading, I got so frustrated that I found myself literally in tears. Well, as the saying goes, "First you cry, then you get mad." The number of angry people over this continues to grow, and it's what keeps me going....we need to inform and engage others until we are a force not to be reckoned with.

Noted, Signed and Tweeted. Thank you James for the awareness. This is so outrageous, and would like to know why BP never did enough studies of the effects of this chemical. BP should never be let off the hook, and they should be so harshly fined that it bleeds them dry.

Well its pretty much common sense..putting another chemical into a fragile environment and have it mix with oil..DUH...
I am pretty POD with BP and their BS addsa of how they have done SO MUCH to clean up the spill. HA!
Bastards ripped me off today..needed gas and went there cuz I wasnt sure where the next station was...3.55 a gallon and then saw 5 OTHER stations at 3.47 right after that...GRR

Like Erika, I heard about that oil towel thingy too..would have been cool to see it in action!
Last I heard they were still in court or is that over with too?
Thx James

Surfactants and dispersants make toxins travel farther as well as make them potentially more active in small amounts... as by disrupting membranes and protective coatings of a wide range of aquatic organisms.

S&N Don't know why they used such stupid people to resolve this issue. The oil poured out FAR FAR FAR too long. They should have stopped it much sooner and paid much more to rectify the situation which they still have not done right!
