Josie is a long time Care2 member and rescuer in Indonesia. Just read what she went through to save Peta the cat and about the overwhelming, upcoming prospect of moving her entire operation. Please share all you can.

Such great timing!
I just got paid, and am going directly to paypal to send her something...
And for anyone that has never read the Josies Blog, I suggest you take the time..she is a talented and funny writer who in my opinion could write a book and make a bundle for her furballs.
That is if she ever gets any free time from her total dedication to her furballs. :-) Thanks Catherine 1love

@ Allen : there are NOT "tens of thousands" of organizations like Josie's in INDONESIA, in fact there are none - so why not donate just to her ?!
@ Ellen : great idea about the book ! a collection of the blogs she's already written wouldn't take too much time perhaps...
thanks so much dear Catherine for this news item ! i'll start a facebook event once we have more details about the where/what/when/how.
so let's hope she'll get the mortgage - then we'll have an address, photo's etc.
noted, will share and forward.

You will be blessed in abundance as God sees every kindness towards His creatures. I wish I could help but I live in Cape Town and I already donate to very needy animals organisations here. Thank you for your kindness and compassion, it is so lacking in most humans.

thanks all. ekeim, i am so worried that if she doesn't get the mortgage, she will have nowhere to go because it's hard to find a rental with that many animals. i'm working on a few emergency grants right now, but she really does need donations to entice her next landlord. she could probably convince someone to let her rent with a large enough deposit.

ps. for anyone who is skeptical about donating to a foreign rescue, i understand. i am too. i have good instincts and have actually uncovered and eliminated scammers on care2. i have had conversations about feline medications with josie that would be hard to fake.

I have seen her personally. We live in the same city.

She did have some trouble with finding a new home. The last time I contacted her, she had some trouble and found another place. In a few days, she'll have to move.

Thank you for sharing about her.

She's more than animals' rescuer. I know she also like to donate to other causes. I do hope she'd be able to move and the new place will be a friendly place for the animals. I'm glad that Indonesia now may start to care about rescuing animals' thing than before. But, please pray for her as I'm still not sure about the people in her new place to be.

I would like to send my thanks for caring about her here in Care2.

I'm aware of Josies stories from before, always very heartwrenching and an adventure. Thank you Josie for rescuing all the cats and kittens you have! Peta was a little cutie! As for the young 'vet' that botched his surgery, they should get rid of her. Especially like Josie said, people give stray cats to her and no one then follows up when they get sick and probably die from the stupid botched neutering job. Terrible.
Anyway, good luck and keep going!

(but then Id be poor cuz Id give it all away..)lol

you sound like me, gina. i'd still be living small; just giving big. and to all my friends, i can't send messages on care2, so i put the news on facebook and it got shared that way. not forgetting about anyone.

Thank you for sharing this story about Josie. She is so dedicated to all the needy little street cats. It seems like where she lives, people go out of their way to be cruel to strays, and especially cats, so that is why her situation is always so urgent- if she can't get to the cat, there will always be someone to hit it with a rock or run it over with their car, or set out meat laced with poison. Don't feel bad if you can't donate, but remember, even if you donate a little, it will be helpful and gratefully accepted!

Thank you Catherine, and to Vicynthia for additional information. My pleasure to give a small sum. And I love this story - it reminded me of a cat named Frankie that lived on our hill for many years and was cared for by all the neighbors. I am crying now. He was a king, and true care taker of any stray kitten that came in to the area. Even letting the young ones eat before him. All the young ones found homes, except Frankie. No, he stayed on the hill till he passed away one night unexpectedly. All hail Frankie and Peta !

Reading the news every day happen to us, it seems that there are only monsters who
abuse animals,
instead fallen angels of heaven on earth as Josie really exist.
This is a wonderful breath of optimism, my mouse is not able to stop and even I have given a little help to "Whiskers Syndicate"
Great sharing thank you so much Catherine and Toni too for the fw

OH WOW CATHERINE, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I'M SOOOOO GLAD TO SEE JOSIE'S STORY ( ONE OF MANY SHE HAS WRITTEN)
HERE ON CARE2 !!!!!
THANKU SOOOOO VERY MUCH !!!
,
I GIV REGULARLY TO JOSIE & HER "MOBSTERS" AS SHE CALLS THEM :
I AGREE, SHE IS A GIFTED WRITER & COULD MOST LIKELY, MAKE LOTS
OF MONEY, IF SHE ONLY HAD THE TIME TO TURN HER * BLOGS * INTO A BOOK ,
OR BOOKS !

I HAV MANY TIMES, POSTED JOSIE'S PLIGHT* TO MY FACE BOOK PG !
I ALSO SEND HER NEWS, TO MY EMAIL CONTACTS, EVERY NOW & THEN :
U NEVER KNOW, WHO MIGHT B ABLE TO SPARE A FEW DOLLARS !!!

JOSIE IS INDEED AN ANGEL FOR KITTEHS & DOGGEHS & THE ONLY ONE
I KNOW OF IN BANDUNG, INDONESIA !!!

SHE WILL B SOOOOO VERY HUMBLED & GRATEFUL, FOR EVN THE SMALLEST
AMOUNT OF HELP, FROM OTHER MEMBERS ON CARE2 & ELSEWHERE !!!

I HAV HAD THE PLEASURE OF EXCHANGING PICS & EMAILS WITH JOSIE, ON A
REGULAR BASIS, FOR # 2 & A HALF YRS NOW !!!

I CHOOSE TO HELP HER FINANCIALLY, B/C SHE'S ON HER OWN, WORKING # 3 JOBS
EVERY DAY, TO DO THE VERY BEST SHE CAN FOR HER ANIMALS, IN A COUNTRY
THAT HAS NO RESPECT (OR LAWS) CONCERNING ANIMALS & LET'S FACE IT, NOT VERY MUCH MORE FOR FEMALES, ESPECIALLY ONES WHO CHOOSE CARING FOR ANIMALS
OVER GETTING MARRIED & HAVING A FAMILY !!!!!

I KNOW THIS MAKES INDONESIA SOUND BAD & I'M VERY SORRY & DEEPLY APOLOGISE,
TO THE SMALL PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE IN INDONESIA (LIKE U VICY) WHO DO ACTUALLY
CARE ABOUT ANIMALS & ARE RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERS !!!!!

What a dedicated woman Josie is! I don't often read the "animal" stories as it is far too painful for me, but I had to as I received this from my beloved Ekeim. Thank you Catherine for sharing this travesty with me and I will do what I can on the first of the month, forwarding.

My dear friends and colleagues,

I am writing to you in this late date, to express my deepest gratitude for all your kindness and support.
Honestly, being a lone fighter in Animal welfare world in Indonesia hadn't give me much hope, but seeing and reading lines after lines of support and notes raise my hope.

Thank you so much for all your caring responses, more so for your belief in my capability to write a book and live from it.
Indeed it is my ultimate dream. I want to write that book, and I am also willing to go through all it takes to have it published. It won't be that easy, I know, but I am happy to do anything in my capability for the cats (and other suffering animals), here in Bandung, there in Indonesia, all over the world.

However, first thing first OK? After this mortgage ordeal I will certainly have time to sit down and write without three tails and four paws over my computer display.

And to send you updates about the mortgage, here is my latest entry, and the latest news about the mortgage.
http://www.whiskerssyndicate.com/2012/07/two-and-half-bad-news-or-vice-versa.html

Thank you again, and happy roller coaster read!

Please, Care2 members- go to Josie's website, www.thewhiskerssyndicate.com- YOU CAN HELP HER OUT- even without sending money! We can all nominate her for an emergency grant from the international spca- it might be enough to help her get her mortgage- go to Josi'es last blog on her website (tow and a half bad news- and click on the "contact me' link- she will send you the information to nominate her for the grant. If everyone spends a few minutes on this- she has a good chance of getting the grant! Please help those needy street cats and Josie!
