Have you noticed that we tree-hugging, species-loving backers of the different charities that are fighting to save this Planet are winning more and more fights? Even the courts are waking up to what is happening to the environment. Good on the charities! Good on the courts! And good on us- the grass roots activists!! Cheney and Bush have stalled for over a year to list the polar bear, while they tried to get the oil companies established in the Arctic. This decision came down ONE DAY before the judge ruled that Bush had to decide on whether to list the polar bear as endangered. And the different charities had given warning that they would fight him in court if he refused to list the bears. So! here we are. THEY"RE LISTED! But this administration will try something else before they leave office. They're already said that the oil is more important than the bears.

The listing means nothing, which is as it should be because if Polar bears were endangered it was maybe 50 years ago when there were less than half of the numbers there are now.

All you have done is make life a bit harder for the Innuit of Nunnavut(North West Territories) who will not be able to sell their right to take a bear to an American trophy hunter.
This listing does nothing to prevent drilling and cannot be used as a reason to shut down industry in the lower 48.
Good luck with your window dressing! You have further impoverished poor people just trying to live as their ancestors did.

Actually, the ruling means A LOT...it recognizes climate change as a causitive factor for future polar bear populations...it recognizes that if something is not done, then serious consequenses will take place...

you claim to care about the native Alaskins - but you promote the denial of climate change (the the call for inaction) which in turn will severly damage (if not wipe out) the polar bear and MANY other species in the artic...stop with your false pretenses of caring about these people!!!
