Jerome Corsi claimed that the campaign of Sen. Barack Obama "has a false, fake birth certificate posted on their website." In fact, the Hawaii Department of Health has confirmed that the birth certificate posted online by the Obama campaign is "a valid Ha

A fake birth certificate? Meaning....what? He was not born? What's the next claim? He is the result of an ILLEGAL meeting between Bigfoot and Nessy?? They have already crossed the line from 'silly' into downright 'ridiculous', so they might as well make the next charge 'breathtakingly stupid'.

It's hard to believe anyone would believe the outlandish claims of the right wing smear and fear mongers, but they do. Too bad Senator McCain seems to lack the will to distance himself from them. * years ago I thought he would have made a fine president, but he's seemingly lost the integrity he had back then.

Close independent examination has shown that Obama's birth certificate is a fake.

This birth cert is not a fake. Furthermore to claim obama is a bastard shows you what kink of IQ these idiot have. There is no such thing as a bastard child, only bastard parents. Big deal. Don't you think if it were fake the scum sucking republicans would be all over it like flys on sh,,! Of course they would because nothing is beneath them to win. This is a dead subject and that is why it gets no press. This would be a front page story by all republican papers, buth they would be sued for slander and know it.

Obama himself could put all of this to rest by simply providing a certified copy from the State of Hawaii. So why doesn't he?

His mother was American so he is considered a natural born American wherever he was born.

There is no reason for Obama to let this go on. He could easily clear it up, if he is telling the truth.

Clear up WHAT? What is the charge? And why don't YOU prove whatever charge you are making? McCain was born in Panama. Is it better to be born in Panama than Hawaii? Do you have a McCain certified birth certificate?? Here's an idea: start demanding every Democrat in the Senate and House has to provide you with a birth certificate....Can hardly wait for the next silly charge against Obama. He picks up more support with each ridiculous attack. People have caught on that the Right Wing tells constant lies and it's hard to 'prove' a lie; so, they tell the lie and demand that the person they told the lie on prove the lie is not true. Not nearly as many are interested in this kind of distractive stupidity any more.

I am sure Mr Obama is not clearing "this up" because it is an absolutely silly claim..which should not have the time wasted on.
Wow American politics is so ridiculous. Next charge will be he is not really black ,,,just pretending

They have already done that one Margaret by saying he isn't really black
because his mother was white. They have also called him an Oreo and an Uncle Tom. Likely lots more out there that we haven't heard yet. I guess the State of Hawaii is lying when they insist he was born in Hawaii(as they do in the article).

I saw this on daily Kos and saved a copy of his birth certificate-I got tired of the accusations. Whatever they may say about Obama-he was born in the state of Hawaii. That makes him an American.

LOL, he isn't really black (african american), he is onlyhalf balck. his mother was white.

It is a silly claim and for all I know he has already provided the birth certificate. It is available online.

The whole thing is a typical fear tactic.

What was provided online is a supposed official electronic copy. But Hawaii does not provide electronic birth certificates. Only certified and sealed hard copies.

Yes, Obabma has a black father. Yet he never speaks of his white mother, or white grandparents who raised him much of the time. He refers to his grandmother as a "typical white woman."

Even if it's a silly claim, it's so easy to debunk and prove his detractors to be crack pots. It makes political sense to take advantage of that. Yet he doesn't.

McCain or Obama, America loses. I am using the write in vote.

Incorrect. Senator Obama has written lovingly and extensively of his Mother and her white Parents who helped raise him.

McCain Campaign Investigated Obama Birth Certificate Rumors

While they ruled out any chance of the ‘birther’ lawsuits holding up in court, lawyers for the McCain campaign did check into the rumors about Obama’s birth and the assertions made by Berg and others. “To the extent that we could, we looked into the substantive side of these allegations,” said Potter. “We never saw any evidence that then-Senator Obama had been born outside of the United States. We saw rumors, but nothing that could be sourced to evidence. There were no statements and no documents that suggested he was born somewhere else. On the other side, there was proof that he was born in Hawaii. There was a certificate issued by the state’s Department of Health, and the responsible official in the state saying that he had personally seen the original certificate. There was a birth announcement in the Honolulu Advertiser, which would be very difficult to invent or plant 47 years in advance.”
