An interesting article about State's rights and the DEA's intervention in scientific research.

The idea is to BANKRUPT the "family" farmers, who would benefit by growing hemp; in favor of the BIG AGRO PLANTATION SYSTEM of the mega-corporations, who hire Mexican labor as slaves, "illegal" or legal {the "illegal" ones are easier to CONTROL by intimidation}; the mega-corporations aim at TOTAL CONTROL OF OUR FOOD SUPPLY, and the world's; and everything else, too.
THAT IS WHAT IS BEHIND THIS. There is no need for "research", really. HEMP WAS GROWN BY GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THOMAS JEFFERSON. It was an IMPORTANT part of the economy of our country in the early stages -- so much so, that in Virginia, a law made it MANDATORY for farmers to set aside land for growing HEMP!!! {Look it up!}
Our Consitution was written on HEMP PAPER. HEMP ROPE AND HEMP SAILS {the word "Canvas", that sails were made out of, comes from CANNABIS!}, were of VITAL STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE TO THE AMERICAN NAVY!!!
During WWII, when the supply of sisal fiber from the Philippines was cut off by the Japanese occupation, FARMERS WERE URGED TO GROW "HEMP FOR VICTORY"!!! There is a FILM you can get from Hemp legalization groups, that was made and circulated widely then; called, HEMP FOR VICTORY! Growing Hemp was the ultimate Patriotic act!!!!!!!!
The "research" has already been done: by the likes of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, gentlemen farmers who liked to experiment with different varieties of imported crops. {I believe that the hemp plant, CANNABIS SATIVA, was imported from India at that time. It is not an American continent native.}

Consider joining the groups on Care2,
"Hopeful Hempsters", to bring Industrial HEMP back into the mainstream; and
"The Medical Marijuana Experience", to dispel the MYTHS our govt puts out about the almost-miraculous HEALING AND PAIN-ALLEVIATING BENEFITS of Medical Marijuana. {We tell our OWN TRUE STORIES.}

[Big Pharma, and Big Agro, DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW THESE THINGS. They are spreading LIES; even tho they KNOW THEY ARE LYING TO YOU. Even their OWN scientists have long ago settled the question!!!]

Your right BMutiny,
My 6th Gen.(1768) Grandpa's will stated in it that my Gr.ma was to receive 2 barrels of apple cider, a hog, 1 bail of hemp & a new milking cow and other things every year from her sons who received farms & equip. from their dad when he died.
My Grandpa's knew G. Washington and a couple of my family members fought with him against the french & Indians with the British, And then again in the Revolutionary War.
Not to mention my Cherokee & Apache back ground, Hemp has been around for awhile.
It was'nt until the 60's that they fiqued out that if you let it grow longer it budded and made a higher potentcy form of Marijuana, I lived in Humbolt Ca. when i was a kid and grew some of the biggest THC Dripping plants man has ever seen...

We need hemp for clothing fabrics, paper, phone books, toilet paper and paper towels and napkins, rope, jute, etc. etc. At the juncture we are at, we need every tree we've got. We are in a fight for our very right to exist on our own planet, against these corporations. who want to enslave all of us eventually. Pretty hard to not be enslaved when they are buying up all the water rights. And companies like Monsanto and ADM and more are creating false, unnatural foods that are shown to hurt us, the very core foods we eat, like soybeans, corn, cereals, more, etc. The only good thing about climate changes is when the system totally shuts down, all this will stop. No more global economy or money, no New World Order, all this corporate/government collusion to harm all beings in some way and profit on it will stop, eventually anyway. We will be at the mercy of the crimes we have committed against the Mother Earth who may no longer be choosing to sustain our population at this moment in time. Let's do everything we can to give us a chance to save our World as we know it, or at least try.! Stop the lies and manipulation. Demand common sense changes from all our our representation in the country. Hemp, straight from Creation to give us all we need without sacrificing our beautiful forests Worldwide. Forests that sustain the balance ouf our climate. We can't live without them.

Hemp was used to make over 25,000 products before it was outlawed in 1937.
Hemp in conjunction with wind, solar, tidal and hydroelectric power, could save the planet by providing all of our energy, fuel, paper, fiber, and 10 to 20% of our medical needs, naturally. It would also reduce acid rain and chemical pollution, rebuild the soil, and reverse the greenhouse effect.
The time has come to push the govt. to review their stance on Hemp and pass laws which would bring Hemp back as a ca$h crop for our farmers! Keep America's families farming... Legalize HEMP!

Hemp was grown in Kentucky during WW2 to make rope - it still grows in the wild in some areas along river banks.
Considering it can, and does, still grow in some areas after all these years, I believe it should be regulated.
Perhaps some type of special permits for the farmers wishing to gorw it......
