Please, learn this by heart: we have to fight vivisection with all the arguments, we need to know what to write and say, for spreading the truth and fight the economic interests linked to useless and dangerous animal testing.

It just goes to show that animal activists are prepared to look at both sides of the argument, it doesn't surprise me at all that the truth is in favour of the animals.

Thanks for posting Laura.

Thanks, this edit from the article summed it up for me. Great post, thanks!

Animal experiments are conducted only because they enable drug companies to launch new products on the market without proper clinical testing. And people as well as animals suffer because of animal experiments.

By Injecting deadly bacteria and cutting up animals will not cure anyone!!!

Look at all the test that was done on Animals to help stop people from getting Cancer and look what happened to the poor Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards she lost her fight, so all the testing on Animals did nothing for her, and the poor Animals that were used lost their lives too, makes no Sense to me!

Noted. Another article pointing to the FACT Animal Testing does not work and only continues due to vested interests (big bucks!).

So the Holocaust continues and the fat cats get fatter. (my apologies to our feline friends)

Torturing animals has always and will continue to be all about the money. The practice would end if the government would stop subsidizing the experiments.

The human system is different from the animal system i.e. rabbit, cat, dog...if something is tested in them and have a clean note it doesn't mean that will not harm our system. So, why use them???????? Maybe to use a gap in the law and don't need to do a lot of experiments for years and years because you CAN use animals and shorten the amount of time of this experiments...

Please read the article: Testing without Torture
http://www.peta.org/issues/animals-used-for-experimentation/alternatives-testing-without-torture.aspx
We know that these barbaric practices don't need to go on, but some of us want to know the alternatives...

Great post Laura.
What amazed me so much is how animals are subject to cruelty because of human cowardice, with a planet over populated because of disregard in our part on that subject even as the most "intelligent being" supposedly, yet we are so afraid to die, so afraid that we kill others to preserve our lives, as if we are more important than the other animals. When it comes to realized we are biological different in some ways, then we refused to accept it because that only idea would deprive us of the hope to find a cure for our own diseases, then we don't see any differences between us and other animals, how can we be so hypocrites.
