We just heard on the news too. He has the most aggressive brain cancer called glioma. They said, on the news, that even if they cut all the cancer out, this type of cancer always comes back. Hopefully, he will be one in a million, and will be able to fight and beat this horrible disease.

I wish Senator Kennedy all the best in this sad battle against cancer. Right on, Barbara K., and that's why we, the common people should pray for him and his family.

I know what his family will be going through as I lost my husband to this terrible disease. It grows at an alarming rate and although my husband had a long operation and radiotherapy he lost the battle after only 7 months after being diagnosed.
Hopefully the senator will be one of the lucky ones, it is truly a terrible disease.

I consider myself lucky to witness the Kennedy legacy, through good times and bad.
Mr. Ted Kennedy has always been a pillar of strength for so many. His caring and dedication has earned him so much respect, he deserves it as he has definately earned it.
Sending positive thoughts and a pure love to Mr. Kennedy and his family

I heard this on my local news station last night. I was very surprised to learn of this new development. Ted has the worse type of Brian Tumor known, and the average life expectency is 6 months to a year. But I do hope this is not the case for him.
I get an invitation every year or so to visit him for a BBQ, which is actually a fund raiser when he comes up for re-election. I don't live that far from his home on Cape Cod..

Senator Kennedy's diagnosis is heartbreaking indeed. See how upbeat and optimistic he appears with his family in the media shots? His strength and courage is shining through. Our lovingly thoughts and prayers are with Sen. Ted and his family through yet one more Kennedy family hurdle. Peace and blessings.

Sure wish I'd have known I wasn't the first to submit this!! This has been happening a lot lately. I do NOT think ANY numbers are correct in here anymore!!! I could not access the majority of articles tonight to NOTE them, so I know submitters' numbers can't be correct. AND, during the site "fix" I "lost" over 30 some friends!!!

I wish Ted all good will. Having endured 8 weeks of Radiation and Chemotherapy i completely understand what he is about to under go. Although mine was for throat cancer and his is brain cancer and there is definitely a difference, the radiation table and the MASK he will have to wear during his treatments are the same. Being strapped down to the table every morning so that you cannot move and having the MASK which is a skin tight mobilization device that is made directly on your face prior to treatments starting, is something i wouldn't even wish on OSAMA BIN LADEN. During the first 3 weeks he will not even feel anything other then being TIRED. Starting in the 4th week the RADIATION will begin to start burning his skin, and every time they remove the MASK after his treatments parts of his skin will begin to start peeling off of his scalp and he will lose his hair. The fatigue will be astronomical and if he is getting Chemotherapy at the same time he will be getting extremely sick, throwing up when you least expect it. Fortunately he will be able to continue to eat, since mine was throat cancer and the Radiation was directed at my throat the inside of my throat was burned and closed off so i had to live with a feeding tube implanted directly into my stomach. Even though he can eat he will not want to especially after a chemotherapy session which can last for 6-7 hours at a time and for at least a week after he will not even want to put anything in his stomach, because it will come right back up. Depending on his doctors he will have to endure anywhere from 6-8 weeks of radiation treatments which occur EVERY SINGLE DAY except the WEEKENDS. Even after the Radiation Treatments have stopped the burning effects of Radiation will continue for a couple of MONTHS afterwards. He will wonder everyday if he wakes up IF IT WILL BE HIS LAST DAY. I was only 43 when i was diagnosed with cancer and weighed 220 pounds and except for the cancer i was a avid runner managing 5-7 miles a day and in excellent health. It took 3 months to reduce me to 135 pounds and i still cant eat without choking on almost everything that i put in my mouth. In 4 years i have been able to force feed myself back up to 150 pounds, I stay sick and i no long have working saliva glands because the Radiation treatments destroyed them so i can no longer run which has been hard on me. Ted has a long road in front of him and will never be the man that he once was and will never return to the Senate. As a strict Conservative Even i feel sorry for him and what he now faces. 18 months ago my father was diagnosed at 74 with the same exact cancer that i was and on his last day of Radiation treatments which were only 6 weeks for him he lost his battle to live. I hope and pray for Ted that he is strong enough to overcome what he is about to under go.

He killed an innocent young girl and, not only got away "scott-free", but never took responsibility for his actions. My sympathy and prayers are reserved for the millions of innocents suffering and dying daily. Karma indeed.
