Hate-Mas Carolers Allowed To Sing Songs of Intolerance In Front Of Target

Christmas - The perfect time to spread hate and bigotry - at least to a group of mean spirited hate mongering carolers in Sacramento, California. Police do nothing even though Target Store asked the carolers to leave their property.

Wow, these folks must be really afraid that they are homosexual.

If they have a hat for monetary donations, wouldn't it be fun to, uh, put some surprises in it?

And they wonder why there is a C2 petition to stiffen the penalties for hate crimes.

Oh yeah, Rochelle, people who do this are really insecure in their own sexual identity.

I wonder if they think that Jesus would be singing with them....

Great point Jon....I think he would be either angry, or just weep in sorrow. The fundies are alive and well in CA and everywhere! Sick bastards! (and they don't even know it!)

This is what freedom is. I wonder - how many people complaining about President Bush and the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act only want freedom for what they believe?

I would rather have freedom than government Big Brother. Let anyone say anything.

Yes Daniel, Hateful bigots have every "right" to be nasty and mean-spirited however, Target also has the right to see to it that hatemongers do not stand on their property spewing their venom. The police should have demanded that these grinches move off the property of a company that clearly has a much better grasp of the REAL values of Christianity than these nasty homophobic people.

I seem to recall that the bush team was insistent that detractor be kept far away from the boy king-george by enforcing so called "Free Speech Zones" and forcibly removing anyone with an anti-bush tee shirt or sign. There's no freedom under the rule of little brother bush and big brother cheney.

They certainly are against anything "Merry and Gay"! What keystone cops forgot that PRIVATE Property means the OWNER has every right to ask people to leave for ANY REASON! It is considered disorderly conduct not to leave when asked by the owner in most states! It was also an unauthorized assembly - so it would be unlawful on public property as well as non-consenting owners private property! I guess this is a sign of the "selective" police state in which we live. If it were a protest against police brutality -- my guess is a few citations would have been issued and the group would have been asked disband and leave.

Dawn:
The Privacy Laws you've referred to deal specifically with Personal (individual) Property only. The Target Corporation falls under a separate set of laws; the area in which those bigots were located was on COMMON PROPERTY (property owned by TENANTS IN COMMON). In other words, since those bigots were standing in an area NOT OWNED BY TARGET, Target Corporation was not within their rights to bring charges against those perps. The Police (no, they weren't Keystone Kops) were correctly adhering to policy and the dictates of their local ordinances.
The perps knew this too which is why they didn't enter the premises; if they had done so, the police could've arrested those punks!

That is interesting Charles, So anything goes one foot from the door, and on the sidewalk entrance of Target or any other store?

I do wonder if the police would be as complacent if they were "Impeach bush Carols" or "Support the Troops - Bring Them Home" Carols? Hmmmm...

Timothy is right. Every day more conseratives leave the Republican Party over violations of our rights. The Libertarian Party is asking Ron Paul to run on their party ticket instead of the Republican ticket! I ask every conservative to see what the Republican Party is doing to our constitution.

Thanks, Charles for your clarification. It is scary to think we have more "smart" bigots running around -- They were much easier to take when we could just brush them off as ignorant and uninformed.

How sad...these people need to get a life and stop worrying about everyone else's sexuality. Looks like prejudice is alive and well...
