The climate crisis will be the biggest challenge facing the next president. But the top Sunday hosts don't seem to think so. Since January of 2007, they have asked: 2679 Questions 3 mentioned global warming.

That is just wrong - it should be one of the mail topics.

From the latest Environmental Defense action alert:

QUOTE

Friday's Washington Post reports that the coal industry is launching a $35 million ad campaign in primary and caucus states to "fuel opposition to legislation that Congress is crafting to slow climate change."

Their billboard, radio and TV ads, and street teams are spreading propaganda about coal-fired electricity and attempting to block our efforts to pass strong global warming legislation this year.

Maybe they don't want to persue a topic that is increasingly shown to be a fraud.
It will be pretty embarassing when the cooling trend taking place now goes into full swing.

Noted, and petition has been signed, and yes I would like to hear the nominees view on global warning but I would prefer to hear their views on the environment as a whole. Thanks Melanie !!!

Agreed,Robert - the whole environmental issue, including global warming, is of paramount importance.

I agree with you both Pam & Robert. It is incomprehensible and unacceptable that environmental concerns have been absent from the election dialogue. Thanks so much to everyone for noting and taking action on this post.

Thank you all for signing this petition to the media. The level of bickering and typical cheap politicking they have not only allowed, but encouraged, at a time when the issues couldn't be more high stake, is a clear abdication of their duties as journalists and citizens. Let's make the environment and global warming a presidential election issue.

The only "fraud" being perpertrated is by the big oil and coal backed denialists - there is no mythical "cooling' trend now - look at the data will you:

Are you asking about the same people who require 100% consensus on global climate change to take action and just a 1% doctrine for military invasion?

Now you all tell me how to coerce candidates who are funded by the corporations to do evil can work through a media that is corporation controlled? Kinda like inbreeding don't you think?

Ricardo, given that our democracy has been taken over by corporations, what do you propose?

The point is that we have to do the things we can do, and a small thing is to demand the media to refocus the candidates on the issues, especially the ones that have been completely left out thus far.

Melanie, That is the crux of the matter. I am in shock and I don't know what we can do. I only know that what we are doing is not working. I have to begin somewhere and I am still there. So far, all I can do is not vote for these cretins that are pushed on us. I know that is a negative but I must draw the line somewhre and I can not violate my belief that it is all wrong!

Ricardo........None of the candidates have said anything about global warming! All of them are consumed with numbers and promises made and the promises will not be broken at all for they will not keep them!

These presidential people are professional speakers and know how to mesmerize as well as avoid certain subjects.......They have no more a clue on it all any more than me or you!!!!!

Not one of these political candidates are worth one grain of salt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plant life~~Plant trees~~For your life....................
