When 9-year-old Martha Payne started blogging about her school lunches in Scotland, kids from around the world began sending her pictures of their school meals, too. Martha created a Food-O-Meter to rate her meals, and now millions of followers check in to see what she's been eating for lunch.

Scottish officials weren't quite so keen on Martha photographing her school lunches, so they banned her from posting the pictures online. The ban lasted a day; that's exactly how long it took the Internet to rise up in protest. The officials ate crow, and Martha's back photographing her lunches.

That's why we always brown bagged it. Cafeteria food is only second to hospital food or airlines.

Those lunches looked kinda sad and small. Annie in Taiwan seemed to have the best one.

Those lunches didn't look so bad to me, especially the Taiwan lunch. When I was a kid there were a few things that were served for linch that I would love to have again: peanut butter cookies, hamburger pizza, rolls and apple crisp from Wilson School in Florence, AL. Man would I love to have that recipe! There is always the old brown bag option, but they just need to hire people that can actually cook. It is not that hard.
