This man answered exactly zero questions, showed no documentation, and got past this checkpoint in under 20 seconds. How seriously do guards take their jobs if they can be derailed by uncomfortable questions?

Thanks J.L. for the link to the video. Scary and funny at the same time. Watched and noted.

You're right John--it does stir mixed emotions for sure. You cannot currently send a star to John because you have done so within the last week.

So produce a bible and act religious and you're home free. The mind boggles...

I don't agree with the person who posted the video to 'upworthy' when he asks, "How seriously do guards take their jobs if they can be derailed by uncomfortable questions?" I don't see the guard being 'derailed,' and I don't hear any 'uncomfortable' questions!

I think it was the threat of this 'Bible nut' taking up too much time -'walking him through' the pertinent Bible chapter- that made this border agent move to get rid of him real fast!

Had he looked Hispanic, though, or spoken with a foreign accent, he wouldn't have gotten through so easily, that's for sure.

I would be curious to find out if the border agent's superiors found out about this slip - the agent would certainly have faced some sort of disciplinary action - & well deserved, too.
