The Most Badass Tumbleweed I've Ever Seen

Massoud Hassani was smuggled out of Afghanistan when he was 14-years-old. Watch his story about returning to Kabul and putting his product design skills to work to build a tool for cheaply surveying and raising awareness about the hundreds of thousands of land mines still hidden in Afghanistan.
Mischa Nachtigal

ORIGINAL: By Callum Cooper, featuring the work of Massoud Hassani. Found on GOOD.

This is an incredible design. I wonder how many hundreds of these could be produced rather than more bombs or land mines.

Good question Kit--and could they work in Vietnam and other places with mines to remove, too? Or is the terrain a barrier? You cannot currently send a star to Kit because you have done so within the last week.

wow! Princess Diana must be watching this where ever form she now is in. She was a big supporter of ending land mining, as are many others. I think US never has signed an aggreement to stop using them.

tremendous idea.

The manufacturers of landmines should be forced to produce tumbleweed in equal numbers to landmines - and to donate them without charge to all countries where landmines have been placed.

Or what about the military removes all the landmines they laid. Personally

But hey, folks should just stop fighting and killing each other.

What a good idea for windy, desert areas. Better still -- don't lay landmines; they should be banned altogether.

I do hate videos. Nice idea but there would need to be a way to cover every inch or so that invention cannot do that as seen.

An observation well worth considering Scott for enhancements if needed upon experience.
