By now you've probably heard about or seen one of the most talked about Super Bowl ads this year. The ad showed a singular portrayal of American farmers coupled with a poetic narration by radio personality Paul Harvey. We thought there was a big, big pro

I, for one, can't get to this site, do not have FB, nor especially want it.
I do not recall the ad, missed the first 20, or so, minutes of the game while on Care2.
Had I seen it I would, apparently been repulsed...or I saw it, and have repressed the painful memory, if it spoke to some junk about God "making" anyone, or thing.

While I am no fan of belief in magical beings or in American sentimentalism...and definitely no fan of rabid right-wing jingoist, Paul Harvey...nonetheless, I thought it was a tender tribute to some of the hardest working people on this planet, farmers. To me, the most disappointing thing about the commercial was when this moving, poetic tribute to farmers was revealed at the end to be nothing more than a sales ploy for a remarkably fuel-inefficient pickup.

I thought I'd posted responses of gratitude despite no stars available to Angelika, Mitchell and Brian. If things get back into sync, perhaps they will still show up.

I have listened to this several times and I absolutely love it. I come from a farming family, my Dad was a farmer, he was wonderful and I love the farmers, they are so essential. My heart breaks because the big corporations are now swallowing the little farmer, soon they will go the way as some of our animals have. The little farmer should be on the endangered list also. Thanks JL

I come from a small family farm myself. It was a great life for us. I support the small farms by buying their products when I find them. I didn't see the Super Bowl ad, but this one was interesting.

Never watch American football so this was my second exposure to the ad that I saw after the SB, love the point almost a much as I love the fact that this version will have reich-wing Harvey rolling and foaming at the mouth in his grave and screaming "No" from the pits of Hell. One has to give Paul Harvey credit he was the first and best of the reich-wing radio propagandists. And Harvey sure all hell gave a leg up to some of the worst of the reich-wing as guest hosts on his program: Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Tony Snow - W Bush speech writer, press secretary, keynote speaker at the 2007 & 2008 CPAC, guest host for Limbaugh and O'Reily, Scott Shannon - now the official voice for "The Sean Hannity Show", Paul W. Smith - frequent guest host for Limbaugh and other assorted crimes. They can give all the fan-fair they want to Harvey but he was for decades the mouth of the reich-wing.

The small farmer is seriously in need of support and encouragement. We need them to take back the land from the factory farms.

Thanks, J.L. This one is more representative of todays farm world. I support our farmers every way I can. I hope Monsanto folds up and blows away. I hear they are going to Scotus with their GMOs. I pray the outcome will be for the Farmers who work for our health. My best to them.
