Last month, more than 100,000 people told the White House that cellphone unlocking -- configuring your phone so it'll work on other networks -- should be legal again. The White House agrees and has told Congress and the FCC to do something about it.

Last month, more than 100,000 people told the White House that cellphone unlocking ó configuring your phone so itíll work on other networks ó should be legal again. The White House agrees and has told Congress and the FCC to do something about it.

Now all kinds of bills are on the table. But hereís the deal:

Our phones shouldn't be locked in the first place.

Here's the bottom line: We should be able to use our cellphones however we want. Period.

Send Congress a message: Any unlocking bill must incorporate the basic principles of mobile freedom.

Thank you for supporting the campaign to win REAL mobile freedom on our phones. Have friends and family who care about their freedom to connect? --- tweeted

Add to this no tracking of locations for non-criminals and no more gathering of personal information. Unless these companies are going to give totally FREE phones, with completely FREE access to use, then stop gathering my personal information. I don't want to be sold to advertisers.
