As Leseiya Nkontoi queued for hours to vote in Kenya's tense presidential elections earlier this month, there was one problem she didn't worry about: How to finish her neglected chores when she got back home late in the evening.

Articles like these are helpful to understand what types of projects the UN are actually initiating which we usually hear little about. Pretty cool the solar lanterns-certainly better news than the election outcome!
thx JL

Fantastic! Such good news - just wish more folks had access to solar at a reasonable price...

If renewal solar energy is possible Kenya, why not elsewhere like parts of the US, Canada, Europe etc. It may not be possible all the time, especially in areas where there is only 6 hours or less of daylight, but just think of the possibilities.

Kenta, an inspiration to others.
