By forcing Bashir's atrocities into the limelight, we are putting Chad and all governments who would welcome Bashir on notice: no injustice, no crime will remain unnoticed by the global community.

Last week, we literally put the spotlight on the Embassy of Chad, demanding that their government prohibit a wanted war criminal, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, from entering their country. By projecting massive images and videos of Sudanese survivors, as well as tweets from our supporters, we let the world know that we will not rest until Bashir is rightfully prosecuted.

We were joined by members of the Sudanese diaspora community, both in person and through tweets and images that we projected onto the Embassy. One Sudanese activist said, ďI have been to many demonstrations in front of the Sudanese Embassy, but this is quite special and creative. This time, itís shifted not to the Sudanese Embassy, but to the Chadian Embassy. And that is because Chad plays a very crucial role in protecting Bashir and inviting him to their land."

By forcing Bashirís atrocities into the limelight, we are putting Chad and all governments who would welcome Bashir on notice: no injustice, no crime will remain unnoticed by the global community.

In solidarity,

That IS done very nicely but will it be effective? Remains to be seen, it has always been hard to break these African complicities. Thx JL

True enough, it sounds great but how will they enforce it? I remember that soon after the International Court put out an arrest warrant for al Bashir, he traveled with impunity all through the Middle East and North Africa. Which does not give us much hope that any fellow countries will heed the warnings. We can but wait and see.

I have a friend that is South Sudanese. His body bears the scars, and some bullets still lodged within, to this day. They were put there by the Sudanese forces under Bashir. And of course Darfur and another area of Sudan on the border with South Sudan have seen his atrocities.

He must be arrested. If you ask me, those countries that do not arrest him should be subject to some kind of sanction.
