It's just one of the over 1,000 rights that gays are denied here in the U.S. No, that isn't a typo.

If this does not deeply affect how you see this inequity, maybe your heart is just too cold. I watched this twice this afternoon. We should be deeply ashamed.

Thanks JL for the link. Great message! The Immigration Bill now being considered in the Congress had this issue covered but it was dropped for fear it would not pass in the Senate. I'm hoping it will be offered again when the floor debate begins. However I'm hoping the SCOTUS will overturn DOMA. Viewed and noted.

These young men deserve to be treated fairly and equally. Come on man these kids preference is not hurting any of us. Quit doing half measures and pretending it is equality. What the US has now is Brown vs. the Board of Education separate but equal? NOT. We must know and support diversity or go back to the cave. Thank you JL Noted.

Are these the same rights denied to straight unmarried couples? And while some death benefits (benefits, not rights) are denied, in marriage you are responsible for a debt, where unmarried you are not. And while you cannot obtain death benefits, you also don't have to pay the marriage penalty tax.

I disagree with John on the issue of immigration, and but the entire family issue shouldn't really be part of the immigration bill (and I am married to a foreigner).

You are welcome Sherri. Sorry Sherri and John--I'm told too soon to send you stars

I hope the Supreme's do strike down DOMA, or that immigration laws can be changed to honor the request of legally married people, who pose no threat of any kind, to join each other here in this country. DOMA is misnamed anyway, it is defense of straight only marriage and discriminatory on that basis alone. I wish them well and hope they can be together permanently soon.

Love is love and we should be delighted when people are lucky enough to find it - no matter the sex or country. This is very sad and only makes me understand why I like animals better than people...

My main reason for rejecting the Disease of Marriage act is that it was a Komrad Wilhelm Klinton act, from an election-fraud fake POTUS whose 'legacy' should be uprooted and destroyed. I also want government kicked out of sexuality issues completely and for civil unions to be easily issued to all consenting adult groups while the church they choose to marry in defines their marriage. Klinton's Disease of Marriage act is only part of the defective actions he raped the nation with.

Shame on DOMA! They send him back but we have millions of illegals from Mexico that they do nothing about! And not just from Mexico! We have Muslims coming by the boat loads and nothing is done even though they are from a terrorist country! Shame on our Government!

My daughter is gay and wants to marry her partner next year. After seeing this, my heart breaks, for all the people whose love will not be recognized by small minded governments.

Oh Fred, I just despair when you post your political stupidity while being an upright supporter of nature. How such goodness and ignorance can coexist in one person is almost beyond reason. And Clinton was legally elected and DOMA was a Republican measure.

There are things you can criticize him for and I'd say you could criticize Hillary for as well. They are both corporatists. But all your other criticisms are just you displaying your hatred and stupidity.
