Ken Fredette, the GOP House Leader in Maine, said he and his Republican caucus opposed expanding health care to 60,000 people because he has "a man's brain" -- his notion that a woman (gasp!),couldn't possibly understand the economics of health care acces

I think he meant to say "a GOP man's brain" which is clearly different from other brains both in size and content. Mostly fed on propaganda and lies, it couldn't possibly understand a woman's brain which is far superior in ever so many ways. But we now have proof positive good reasons to never again elect this man to any office, including dog catcher.

Please engage brain sir; that is if you have one before opening big, fat mouth and sticking big, fat foot in it.

Open mouth, insert foot, though I doubt even now he realizes how stupid his comments are. It's mostly just disheartening that people like this are elected and re-elected to the Congress. Men and women are from earth, republicans however, just might be from Neptune.

Someday, we might save the world - the day we learn how to fix stupid.

I think he forgot to take his brain out of his pocket before throwing it in the washer and dryer. It is so sad that with all of the air pollution we are already dealing with, that someone like him is allowed to open his mouth. Thanks Judy. I like Kit's idea too.

Apparently, his "man's brain" makes him more rational when it comes to money than women.

What, so there is more for war and less on health care. Sorry that us women also use our hearts as well as our brains.

Women understand their is a cost to Universal Health Care, however we also believe that is a priority place to be spending the money, unlike on the ongoing wars many men seem so hell bent on. Also 1% pay some taxes.

You sir, are a lousey representative for the men as well as for your State.

That blathering fool only proved conclusively that his brain is severely compromised. If he had USED his brain to do a simple google search he could have found, in seconds, a table showing we pay 4 times what other advanced nations do, more than 8,000 per capita, we have 50 million uninsured people, and poorer health outcomes across the board than nations that use single payer systems. Even a mans brain ought be able to understand that paying a quarter of what we do now and covering everyone is better than what we are doing, which is enrich the 1% at the cost of everyone else. Perhaps it was a bit of asphyxia at birth, but the condition he describes as a man's brain is really only a republican's brain, male or female. Everyone else is WAY smarter than that...

noted. He should think before he talks and opens his big mouth to say nonsense. That would be using his brain ... a narrow minded one I would say ... Thanx JL.

Men of the world, you have been insulted.

You are better than that.

Arielle has it right.

And we object to Fredette's stupid insult to intelligent men.

You believe in us and we believe in you. We are united to the
cause and sanity and salvation of our planet.

No surprise that he doesn't like free things. When God was handing out brains to the prospective babies, (s)he said "brains" and Fredette said "I don't want no free brains. Gimme those old dried out used up men's brains and I'll trade my soul for it." God said, I don't take souls in exchange for things, but an old fallen angel of mine does. Let me put you in touch with Lucifer, he'll be happy to accommodate you. And here you see the result. For his soul he got a nice political job and eternal damnation.

The nice thing about being a liberal is that when you arrive in Heaven you don';t have to deal with conservatives any longer. ;o)
