“Following the [Supreme] Court’s ruling, the term ‘Spouse’ is no longer unconstitutionally restricted to members of the opposite sex, but now rightfully includes those same-sex spouses in ‘otherwise valid marriages,’” judge rules. It was never really about "hating gays," per se; it was always and only about the money. Corporations knew they'd be paying more out-of-pocket expenses if gay marriage was legal--that's why they put on a massive "show" for gay-hating rightwing Xtians to promote this hatred. Now that they've finally lost, and love has won, they will still be looking for ways to get out of paying benefits to those who deserve them. Although this is a "win," we must carefully watch future rulings to make sure they're not going to "water-down" SCOTUS' ruling.

The GOP/TP always have a reason for doing everything...let LGBT mariiages go thru while we whittle down the abortion rights state by state. They can always come back to this after we're done redistricting and have a majority in all Congress. They'll return to this issue, especially with the Supreme Court loaded in their favor. Noted with a bit of wariness mixed with the happiness. Thank you.

Wife has long meant female partner and husband male partner, no one definition is needed. The rest is personal business. I'm very glad that we have (many of us) finally evolved to a point of accepting that different is not bad just different.
