I think if you were raised from birth eating insects, it would be as natural as breathing air. We who weren't raised that way just have to get past the mental aversion and heeby jeebies. It may become necessary for survival. Not such a big deal overall. Thanks Judi.

They're a great source of protein. Grasshoppers fried in a little sesame with peanut sauce are delicious. You can keep your salsa chips although I do like guacamole. I just couldn't bring myself to eat dried and fried tarantula though. It's all in the way they're prepared. Insects just like meat have to be cooked. Otherwise you run the risks of getting ill.

I wasn't raised eating insects and actually like Mopani worms, and believe many visitors to Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and Zambia enjoy them also.

Insects are great source of protein so it's a good thing people in Western countries are getting over their aversions and trying this food source. As more insect-based products become available, more people will start to make them part of their diet.
