FINALLY Some Good News !!! While we're not there yet, this is a giant step of late for AMERICA's wild horses and burros. PLEASE, use links in this article to contact your Congress People etc. we need to rally to support this and again keep the pressure on with phone calls and emails. The goal is to be courteous but demand that an investigation be done and put a STOP TO ALL ROUNDUPS. The stewardship of our wild horses and burros has to be brought into the light and decent, honest and viable alternatives and solutions can be found. We have to stay active and strong in our support of protection and preservation for OUR wildlife and OUR lands.

UNDYING THANKS TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON that work so long and hard and stay the course to protect the horse and our wonderful donkeys too.

Washington runs slow but if we keep up the heat we can be successful and we won't be left with just the horridly sad memories of OUR Wild Horses and Burros RUNNING FREE in AMERICA.

"Even If I Don't See It, I Need To Know It's There" (quote from Alaska Park Ranger, Nevada Barr on saving our Wildlife, America's Lands and Legacy)

The Common Law is the WILL of Mankind issuing from the LIFE of the PEOPLE. (motto of the United States Department of Justice)

How I pray this day will come when they will stop sending our wild horses and burros to slaugher, So many tears and hear there panting and hoofs running and fear in there eyes. Washington runs slow because it wants too. I want the people who run BLM fired and put people in there who has a real heart and not shut there water off. Also keep the cattle off of the horse plains its theres not the cattle for they destroy the grass horses don't. Let them be what they are free. Thanks Shirley

Dear Friends, there has seemed to be alot of confusion today on exactly who to be contacting for the moratorium, and the hearing for the Roam Act. Chris Heyde of the Animal Welfare Institute has been gracious enough to straighten out the miscommunication going around the horse world .See below

Chairman Grijalva sent a letter in August where he addressed many BLM problems and called for a moratorium. That isn’t new. However, that is all the Committee/Subcommittee can do short of a new bill.
Folks should absolutely call for a moratorium, but it should be to the BLM. They should also be writing the Senate Committee calling for a hearing on the ROAM Act. They can bring up the moratorium as well since the issue could be addressed in the Senate hearings.Calls/emails to the House aren’t going to help anything. It is past them now. Should the Senate have a hearing and move ROAM and that includes moratorium language it would go back to the House for a new vote. Then we flood the House (entire House) with calls of support.

Chris Heyde

***Please accept my apologies for any confusion on the article from today. I know it does get confusing sometimes in knowing who, what, when to take action. Thanks to Chris for helping to explain exactly where we are and what still needs to be done. It's good to get info straight from AWI. THANKS ALL. Shirley A.
