Lynn thanks for the update on Biko. I really feel so sad to know that such a beautiful hound had to be put to sleep due to a tragic accident that had shattered his bones. It really makes you feel so terrible to hear these stories whether it be that of an animal or that of a human being. May Biko - one of the most lovely greyhound - rest in peace. At least he does not have to suffer so much of pain now. But It really is such a sweet and wonderful gesture to have dedicated a song for him. What do you say?

Thank you Ivy, I agree with your comments. It is very sad what happened to Biko, and had he not been forced to race in the first place, he would not have come to this end. I feel like you do. I am touched by Maria's beautiful song dedicated to Biko and all racing dogs, and I hope it helps to bring awareness to this terrible "sport" that has ended so many lives, but also awareness to the groups that exist to rescue these sweet babies as well. *hugs*

Lynn I agree with you that such an inhumane sport can no longer be considered a sport. It is too cruel for my liking. I just can't imagine what thrill people get out of this! It's so disgusting and sadistic I say! I hope and pray that this Dog Racing business will be banned and put to an end immediately.

We should put an end to all this atrocious and unnecessary suffering of dogs, the industry only exists because of sick people wasting their money on bets while greyhounds suffer and die when they are no longer required, once their racing days are over and all to often just because the greyhounds receive fatal injuries on tracks or just do not win!!! Sometimes I am ashamed to be part of the human race.

Hi Patsi, yes, it's just another way that 'humans' have found to exploit innocent animals, in the name of sport or entertainment, among the other cruel ways they are used. Greyhounds have such a sweet and loving nature, they will do anything for their 'owners'...and this is their reward :(

Greyhound racing has been a thorn in my side for years and I am so thankful for everyone out there who are working to save these animals from the exploitation and too often for so many, horrid and cruel deaths when they are no longer wanted for the ' business ' If it were not for these wonderful people out there educating the public on the facts behind the closed doors of the greyhound racing industry - we would not be where we are now - many more of these beautiful dogs being saved - and not only here in the UK but world wide - people are becoming aware and the support of greyhound racing is slowly depleating !

For those of you who are new to this - please forward this information on to your friends - and for those who are not new to this issue - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING HERE AND DOING WHAT YOU TO TO HELP RESCUE THESE DOGS AND SHUT DOWN THIS INDUSTRY !

EVERYONE - DOWNLOAD THIS AMAZING SONG - AND ASK OTHERS TO DO THE SAME !

Thanks Mary Alice, I know you to be very active in helping to stop this "sport", and South Devon Greyhound Action is working their miracles too, with all they do. And Maria and Paul's beautiful song must be bringing so much awareness. I see your beautiful banners for animal work everywhere Mary Alice, like the one I used here, and I know we all work on issues for all animals. And greyhounds are just so special and gentle, there is a woman who walks several together past my house each day (I am sure they are rescues) and they are so loving and friendly, so gentle beings, they love to be petted even with all they've suffered. I hope this horrible "sport" will be abolished there in the UK, and here in the USA and everywhere!!!

We would like to thank you all very much for your kind words of support for dear Biko the greyhound that was put to sleep recently due to a tragic accident. We would like to also thank Maria Daines and Paul for writing a very moving song in his name and also Mary Alice at CVFA for all her support for the greyhounds.
Biko's death was not in vain as we will publicise it as much as we can to get this vile, evil sport banned. Rest assured we have dedicated all our time to this cause and will continue to do this
