We adults talk about things, with masks on. Children see things much more uncomplicated ... Some kids see things very bright, and we can take an example! Please view the vidoe, and judge yourselves.

Very eloquently put! It's a shame that this was filmed in 1992, yet so little has come of it. Very disenheartening. :((

We have failed her and all our children.

Thank you E.J., this is an excellent reminder that if we fail to act now,
it will be even worse later. We cannot fail again.

Thank you all for your comment ... yet maybe, we're not to old to learn from this 12 year old !
Hoping that this world will change, and please let us listen to our children, and what they say!

Kudos to you Evert for finding this video and letting me know about it. Severn had a great opportunity to speak for all children and she did that admirably. It is sad that nothing's really changed for the better since then. I lost my faith in the UN years ago, especially after seeing what they were doing in Afghanistan in 1973, discouraging Afghan mothers from Breastfeeding their young whilst enforcing tainted Powered milk and tainted Gerber's baby food as a substitute. In the month of May 1973 alone, over 4'00 babies died of Gastro-enteritis, my daughter who was one year and a half, when we were living there, nearly died of the same disorder, as well. The only thing that saved her was eating live cultured Yogurt and honey, suggested to me by an Afghan Doctor who was working at the UN clinic in Kabul. The key food was Yogurt produced from the animals who were fed the lower marijuana leaves as forage . This dairy food produced the necessary anti-biodies which cured Gastro-enteritis.
There is much that the world leaders still need to remember. That the old ways are the best for health and healing, to cease interfering in other countries' affairs and to truly endeavour to promote Peace within and without.
Peace in Our Quest For Truth.

Words of wisdom coming out of the mouth of a courageous girl that was 12 years old by that time.16 years ago,and nothing has changed. How can anyone not realize that we have to change now and not tomorrow?
Thank you for sharing this video Evert Jan,and yes I am curious too of what this girl with so much karma, is doing nowadays

Thank you Evert for directing me to this video. What an amazing young lady. I wonder, is she still an activist? It is a sad to think that nothing much has changed since this young lady spoke.
We should listen to our children, they have wisdom beyond their years.

Sorry my l/top refuses to let me watch vids - but Evert Jan thanx for the post. I think on the question of how adults perceive and children see is because children in all their innocence are without guile and any inhibitions whatsoever -they tell it like it is!!! The majority of adults are afraid of how other will see them if they speak out. Blessings
