'"This does not mean that she was promiscuous," noted Dr. Jay Brooks, chairman of the department of hematology and oncology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation and Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. "It simply means that she, at some point in her life, was probably exposed to the human papilloma virus."

Indeed, estimates for the percentage of anal cancers as a result of infection with HPV ranges from 45 to 90 percent. Although the exact cause of anal cancer is not known, the American Cancer Society reports that most anal cancers seem to be linked to HPV infection."

Thank you Dee-I was a never a Charlie's Angels fan but she was superb in the Burning Bed and Extremities...and most admired for her class, beauty and consistent and understated courage. Noted.

She was a normal person, just famous. I am just sorry she had to suffer at all. Cancer is so unbiased in who it picks as its victims.

When I saw her courageous documentary, I was so glad she used her own plight with cancer to help others. There is a stigma attached to certain illnesses, such as this one. Having someone "famous" show their total human side... it truly is an inspiration. God rest her soul... she fought to the bitter end.

This article is just an ad for Gardisil. Just my humble opinion.

I'll always remember her for her stunning looks, her hair and Charlie's angel, she was amazing... Just so sorry she had lost her fight with cancer... let her legacy live in that she has brought this disease to the fore for women and that we must have regular checks.

I believe Marcla your missing a view. What Farrah chose regarding treatment was not to have colostomy.

That is a very difficult thing for any human to face much less one whose life was surrounded and fed with physical beauity. I believe we all have choice in medical care, including Guardisil; all States have vaccine opt outs.

What Farrahs fight was, came down to a option she choose not to take, one that could have possibly saved or greatly extened her life. I respect her choice.

She suffered a horrific death.

The information about the (likely) cause of her cancer is factual.

She is in Heaven now....none of us can conceive ahead of time the many
sufferings. The Human body is so delicate. While it is healthy one does not think at all of its possibility of getting Cancer. Cancer in that delicate area must have been very humiliating for this actress with a great smile.

We all shall miss her smile.
