" Nineteen-year-old Silvanus Shannon, 16-year-old Eric Carson and 18-year-old Eugene Riley were charged as adults with first degree felony murder, said Tandra Simonton, spokesperson for the Cook County States Attorney. They were all held without bond.

They are charged in the death of Derrion Albert, an honors student who was beaten to death last Thursday. An amateur videotape of the beating has been broadcast nationally.

It's unclear who shot the footage, but a local television station that received the tape turned it over to police.

The tape shows attackers wielding two-by-four wooden planks and punching and kicking a single person. At one point, four or five males are seen beating and stomping the same young man after he falls to the ground."

This is horrible! I don't understand what prompts such deadly aggression and the burning of the memorial just added to the cruelty. I pray
that the family can somehow cope.
Thanks Dee

Thanks Dee

I was always bullied thru my school years, I never really knew why i was targeted, until one day a girl said it was because my step-dad was a chiropractor, still, we all lived in the same houses ,block had pools etc..And step-daddy molested me....I'd have given them anything to leave me alone....kids are cruel, and you'd think this is the time they are still learning about anger and true hate, God forgive them if the don't fix it NOW.

Millions & millions have been spent to improve the lives
of these blacks and to no avail.

What works? Nothing!

Whose to blame?

The blame as I see it lays squarely on the parents!!!!!!!

Myths & ignorance rules from the parents all the
way down to every child they have.

Far too many in this cultural group ecpect other
people to "cure" & "fix" what ails them.

The cure all that ails them is attitude.....BIGTIME!

The attitude is like a huge chip that has been
handed down from generation to generation.

Removal of attitudef doesn't cost a dime but it does
demand time........Somebody created all
these kids and these somebodys had better
start acting as responsibly as they want these
kids to act.

Remember it took mere seconds to conceive
them but a long lifetime to impact them with
what is respectful behavior.

Plant trees for life..............

Violence seems to be the theme throughout the country with kids in many places. You have to wonder what happens to children that makes them want to act so violently. It is a cruel world, and the the record numbers of child abuse, children losing parents to jail time, to being also killed, to violence through music and video games, to what they see on the streets of their towns in many cities across this nation, our kids growing up now I am in fear will see much more of this kind of horrid behavior if we don't do something to change things now. Kids grow up many times almost alone, with no guidance from an adult. This really makes me sick to know kids his own age killed him... what a terrible nightmare right here under our noses.

TY for the article, Dee. One thing left out in these posts was the premeditation in the brutal murder of this unfortunate, intelligent boy who, BTW, was an honor student. Only one of the arrested trio is a juvenile, the same age as the victim (16); the other two are adults, and deserve the death penalty (if convicted). The 16-year-old - if convicted - deserves life in prison w/o parole.

Among the motives for this heinous crime is ENVY; i.e., the accused were totally incapable of matching their victim's intelligence and willingness to study hard for his future. This is one of the primary motives of gang members, in that they know that honor students want nothing to do with them. These gangsters can never compete intillectually with the much brighter youth in their areas; so, they resort to intimidation & violence - including murder.

My grandmother raied eight children who lived in a state
of poverty these so called kids have never seen, felt or experienced!!!!!!!!!

Back in those Appalacian hills there was no room for jelousy because it
was not there. You did as you were told and that was that. And, by george
there were rifles all over the place, everyone had more than a few.

I was there........I remember how gram lived in literally a shack cooking
on a wood burning stove. Nobody ever went hungry. Gram could make
a four course mean out of scraps & it was tasty too boot!!

These three in Chicago will now get a big time lesson in listening
and paying attention to RULES. These three would not be facing
life behind bars IF they had parents who paid attention to their needs
instead of their jelous wants........

Plant trees for life.......

Sickening example of what have become of too damned many of our young citizens, who haven't been given ANY guidance, and don't have any ideas of how to work towards a life goal. A generation lost, WITHOUT any reason other than simple lack of desire to do better.

Within the last two days in areas some distance from
where I live an intruder broke into a home shot & killed
a five year old boy intended for another who was eighteen.
The eighteen year old who was the target was critically
shot.

Thi has happened over & over again. The people living in this
area then get on the news & swear never again will this happen

I can't count how many times I've seen the same news report
just where I live. These shootings, beatings & murder go on
all over this country by the same group. And, the people
swear it has to stop.

It will stop when they learn what a school is really for, it will
stop when they learn what being a parent means. It will
stop when they learn not to become parents at 15, 16, 17,
and 18.

When all the needless killings stop then there will
be no need to get on the local/national news and cry
out of why.

Plant trees for life.....................
