Six women found dead at a Cleveland, Ohio, home appeared to have been strangled, and their decomposing bodies could have been lying there for "weeks, if not months or years," a coroner told CNN on Saturday.

"Police discovered the bodies at the home of Anthony Sowell, a 50-year-old convicted rapist, after they tried to serve an arrest and search warrant for him related to a sexual assault investigation.

On Thursday, detectives from the department's sex-crimes unit and members of its SWAT team went to Sowell's home to execute the warrant and to arrest the suspect, but he was nowhere to be found, Cleveland Police spokesman Lt. Thomas Stacho said.

Five female victims were found inside the home, and another female body was discovered outside the home, said Cuyahoga County Coroner Frank Miller III.

Miller's office had yet to identify the victims, who all died of "homicidal violence," he said."

I was going to say the same thing as Laura. Why don't they get it. These monsters are never going to change . They need to lock them up and throw away the keys. it really says al ot about our society the way we protect the rights of the guilty offenders and could care less about all the' could be 'victims!!!!!!

My fear is that there are others who fell through the cracks of Family Court in the days when records were sealed or time served was till age 21. We can't kid outselves about therapy or chemical castration. They are overly stimulated as are many whose sexual needs are across the board. Not everyone acts out what they fantasize about. There are many missing people in the world. Some will turn up unharmed -they just wanted to start a new life. Some have amnesia perhaps from a fall or being hit by a car and not receiving treatment - just got up and walked away. The problem is this: The laws of Search and Seizure can only be acted upon if there is probable cause that a crime has been committed in the premises and that requires a Judge's signature. OR a police officer is aware at the moment that an emergency situation is occurring and he can break down the doorto rescue someone. In a case like this fruitcake, I believe the judge had to sign papers. The law of search and seizure is the reason people can hide illegal guns, drugs, stolen money, kidnapped children, etc. If no one knows anything about the person or what they do, no judge is going to sign a warrant based on someone's gut feeling. The laws in this country and probably in others are meant to protect the guilty just in case they are innocent. Our criminal justice system needs an overhaul.

This is just one more case of reasons why offenders like this should NEVER be let out free to walk the streets again. One question I have is how the heck this guy stayed in the house with the smell of these women? Plus you would think anyone living near him would have smelled something also. I don't want to sound "petty" by talking about the women like I did above, but how someone did not catch on sooner is beyond me. You would think this guy being already a registered offender would have been on probation. And gosh knows how many others he may have killed and they have not found them yet. What a screwed up world we live in... it makes you leery about going anywhere, especially alone.

It would be better if a millstone were tied around his neck and he thrown into the sea... he is a sadistic killer and will never change... he should be shackled, and institutionalised.. without the possibility of parole..
