High-rise tower blocks dating from the 1960s and '70s could be torn down in the wake of the deadly fire, to be the "defining outcome of this tragedy that the worst mistakes" of that era become a thing of the past. the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan said.

The very best suggestion following the Grenfell Tower fire debacle. All tenants should be rehoused in attractive estates not more than four stories high, with communal gardens, trees and seats. Green spaces where children can play safely and elderly, infirm and disabled people, not working, free to sit under the shade of a tree and make good conversation and help the little ones grow flowers. It's not rocket science. It's simply a way to bring people together in the way they like most and in a way that makes them feel an integral part of mainstream society rather than being sidelined and ignored. Brownfield site can be used to re-house entire communities if necessary on the outskirts of and from cities outside of London. We need governments that concern themselves for the people - in town and country - and for the way in which attachment to nature can soothe and sanctify each day.

πŸ’™πŸ’œNoted...I hope it is soon so these poor people can get back to some normality. I do hope if there are any more buildings with this terrible cladding on them, that they remove it asap. You cannot put shoddy material on buildings and play with peoples lives.πŸ’™πŸ’œThank you...Rosie.πŸ’™πŸ’œ

These people should be housed quickly and as close to where they had lived as possible unless they chose to go somewhere else. I agree, these tall buildings that have limited access to green commons, that have no fast ways to exit, that didn't provide fire escapes need to go.

Unfortunately too many people have to die before those in power do anything about fixing many problems that the poor and less financially able are trapped in.

So terrible for all those people. I keep wondering about the baby, thrown and caught, from one of the floors. How tragic.

I wonder if this baby is reunited with it's family and parents.

Thank you for sharing.

Well, just seeing pictures of the fire, Grenfell Towers should be pulled down and others made more fire resistant.

I heard on the radio today - there weren't any or sufficient smoke detectors, and there were complaints for a long time!!!!

what a travesty!! I heard a recording, f someone calling for help..
here was no water left to use in the building.

This is profit over human lives..
it is incompetence and maximizing profit, that is to blame. All parties must be held accountable.
Shame!
