Shocking statistics on the mass murder of other beings to "feed" the "average American." If we truly "are what we eat," what does this say about human societies who keep billions of creatures for execution, like prisoners, merely for "consumption?"

I know, isn't it?!

Gorilly, did you ever read the HG Wells book, "The Time Machine" or see the two movies made based on that book? Scary. Look up the word "morlock".....*shudders*....that's the human race for sure!

It is shocking! I am glad to be a vegan but wow I think if people just cut back to two or three days of any type of meat it would help greatly. The problem is that almost every processed food in the grocery stores contain either dairy , eggs and or chicken in some form! It is so hard to escape it if you are the average consumer. They need more vegan foods in stores or start substituting tofu or egg replacers.
Thanks Rooibos

Ever since i´ve started to base my food on mainly fresh fruits, salads & fish, i´ve become a much happier & healthier (!!) person & the kowledge & the awareness that i only eat white meat on the "odd occaision" , directly from farmers, where you can watch the "so called HAPPY chicken" walking along outside on a huge field , already makes me feel better! I´m glad that the meat-intake in Germany has drasticly shrunk-compared to what it used to be before! And the vegetarian meals are all so versatile & yummy! Still, i´m working on cutiing down white meat all together.

I can also add that I became vegetarian and I dont regret it at all. You have no withdrawel symtoms. I can not believe that I once did eat meat and also selective chosen. No differnce though. I like to see them free, the same reason why I want to be free.

"I like to see them free, the same reason why I want to be free."

This is a powerful statement, coming from a human woman...a "minority" who, in most societies until recently, was considered chattel with "without a soul."

It's the same struggle, just a different oppressed group.

The majority of humans are hell-bent to devour our cherished animals to smitherins.The only thing will stop this savagery is large scale epidemic of high blood pressure,heart illnesses and more virulent sickness caused by the consumption of tainted meat laced with toxic chemicals which are fed to these poor creatures.

It is true humans use animals the same way we did slaves for centuries. Humans even use the same excusses and flimsy reasoning for doing so.

humans believed slavery was just as etical, nessary and acceptable as we do using animals for food, testing, experimenting and entertainment. it is just a different species of living being.

as humans were stupid and igorant about slaves for centuries we are still just as igonrant and predijudice towards animals;

NO ANIMAL or HUMAN SHOULD HAVE TO ENDURE THE TORTURE OR EXPLOITIATION OF HUMANS.
