Recently, worldwide increases in food prices have triggered a global surge in hunger. But even before the current crisis, hunger had been on the rise. The truth is that long-standing U.S. food aid programs haven't proven effective in reducing chronic hung

Site didnt want my signature,as it was aimed at US citizens/congress.Thats understandable in some ways ,but a bit of a shame,as alarm at these issues, goes well beyond any national boundaries.

I agree, I hate being barred due to citizenship. Petitions should be set up to be internationally signed. Keeps the targets on their toes if they see the world is watching.

Let's support political parties and politicians who prioritise human rights (like the right to food) above corporate profit, private profit. I'm talking about the Greens Parties and socialist parties in the U.S.A. and elsewhere. : )

If people stopped eating meat then we wouldn't be in this f***ing mess!!!!!!!!!!
There is more than enough food in the world to feed the entire human population

So why are more than 840 million people still going hungry?
Our meat-based diet is partly to blame, as land, water, and other resources that could be used to grow food for human beings are being used to grow crops for farmed animals instead. According to a recent report by Compassion in World Framing, "crops that could be used to feed the hungry are instead being used to fatten animals raised for food." It takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of edible animal flesh..

In Africa, some of the world's starving live near fields of grain, but instead of feeding the food to them, it is shipped to other countries to over-feed (fatten) cattle raised for food.

Not only are the starving not getting fed, but the cattle are fed so much that many become crippled and can't even walk to slaughter.

The only one who benefits from all of this is:
THE MEAT INDUSTRY!

-Making money off of:
WORLD HUNGER
ANIMAL TORTURE

and

CAUSING YOU -THE CONSUMER
ILL HEALTH AND DISEASE
(heart disease, high cholesterol, and cancer)

We're sorry, but it appears that you are not eligible to participate in this campaign. This could be for one of several reasons, possibly:

* You do not live in the target state or district, or if you do;
* We may have not been able to map your address to your elected official
