Why is this found to be surprising? The news I've been catching up on shows children are an object of exploitation in many areas. 20% of US states have very light guidelines for sentencing child predators. Petitions by TIG and HRN languish without enough effective signatures both on Care2 and elsewhere. The link provided to the HRN's petition above has had 6 signatures in 3 days even with all the requested changes by Care2 membership. The UN has very little backbone in the first place or we wouldn't have Dar Fur. Let's all get mad, get everyone you can involved, if you live in the states, target states where Jessica's Law won't be passed. Sign the appropriate targeted petitions, make sure all your friends do and stay mad until children have a voice, their safety takes center stage.
