probably the clergy statistically have a far lower rate in child abuse than most. In Australia one in four children are supposed to be sexually abused -There are not enough clergy to do that.- I believe the stats are equally shocking in Coca Cola Country

The stats ARE horrific here in the States, as well. It's an epidemic that needs to be stopped.
Thanks, Kelli. Noted.

Thanks Pope, that's a start, Apologizing is good, now get all your clergy to stop doing it,(Perverted things)

- now you should tell all the people you want to apologize,

.. for desroying, all the meaningful proof, throughout history, of what the human existense, is really all about, full consciousness..

Puchar - The Temple of Time and Space, Portal's,..Catholic Chuch Tried to Destroy,.. 1600's ...
- That would be the vandals,.. Catholic Chuch

- and maybe tell them about the solar system, and how thats been a
distorted lie, like everything else.

That would help your cause of trying to convince every one that the Vatican is OK, before I finish telling them..the truth.

There is much proof to say that the catholic clergy have and probably still are abusing their privileges as pastors/priests and teachers - I do know this for a fact. They are paying off in big figures the ones who have decided that they will not be damned if they speak out about the clergy and this is not only in the now but has been going on "ad in finatum"!!! The majority of cases get swept under the "carpet" and the priests moved to other parts of the world - where they are free to take up their abusive behaviour once again and so it goes on!!! It is an absolutely diabolical practice - which left me no faith at all in the catholic church or in any other clergy for that matter - because it goes on everywhere and these so called clergy abuse their places and destroy so many innocent souls. Blessings Kelli thanx for the post. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I agree walkadelic f.! "sorry for all that child abuse, and I hope they pay, although I dont know how you'll get them, since we will keep moving them around and hiding them instead of facing scandal!"
nice

They tried covering the abuse up & sending the Priests to other places. There was one Priest who was sent to prison & was killed by another inmate. They preach about sins & some of their Priests are the worse sinners there are & the Cardinals & Bishops who tried covering up are just as sinful, they should practice what they preach.

It is a true shame that an apology, even from the Pope, will not heal the unseen wounds caused by the priests. It is an additional slap in the face that these men were not only trusted but actually revered by the parents. How to fix it? Long term fix would allow marriage for priests: men are men, and being sexual is not something you can pray or hope away. Gay men would be allowed to be "out". Those things, of course, will never happen, so the problem will remain. So sad, and watch your children! Thanks, Kelli.

Too little too late!!!! They did protect this pedophiles and move them to places with children. We were raised to do as a priest says because he next to God. We were raised to know they would never do anything wrong. Our parents help set the scene for this crime because they never ever questioned anything...and we were told it was a sin to question anything the church said. I wouldn't accept his apology if I were a victim. Lives have been destroyed and it kept going on down the line for years. Angry, you bet you a$$. NO EXCUSES. It adds a new meaning to devoted catholic. It means idiot catholic for trusting a human being with your most precious thing, your children. I have fought with my family over this for years. I have been lucky to know good priests but then I am a girl (old lady, now). I will pray for those kids the church screwed up for life and know they will face their own God some day.

Let's see how sorry he really is, by properly punishing these perverts that do these atrocious things to children and ruining their lives.

The Roman Catholic church has committed atrocities since the days of St Paul..aside from coordinating pogroms against the Jews, there is the Spanish Inquisition, the acceptance of facist leaders, allowance of massacres by the Portugese and Spainish colonialists, build up of gross and vast material wealth in a world of poverty while preaching the sanctity and goodness of poverty, condemnation and excommunication of liberation theologist Latin American clergy, and of course this lllooonnnggg running allowance of the abuse of position by those abusing children,(as well as working to stop the use of condoms in aids ridden countries). The Church condemn sex between consenting adults outside of wedlock, and between people of the same sex,but for so long allowed clergy to screw young people's lives up by sexually abusing them.
They have long ago lost any moral high ground.
Im not anti-catholic,just anti-clergy.

I think the apology is a little too late and not worth thinking about, instead of apologising to those who were affected why doesnt he oust those who do it,why does the churches move them to other parishes instead of ousting and having them charged, stop protecting them and hold them accountable.

You're right, Steve ... the apology is a little too late. He's only apologizing because the Catholic church is dying ... no one with a rational mind believes those fantasy stories any more ... especially because of the perverts in the religious orders.

For victims of church abuse in Australia, whose numbers are not known but who activists say are in the thousands, had demanded the pope make a full and open apology for clergy abuse and do more to prevent future abuse.
Thanks Pope, that's a start, Apologizing is good.
