Recently the California Supreme Court overturned the ban on slaughtering downed animals. Organizations such as The Humane Society of United States, PETA and Farm Sanctuary worked tirelessly to bring this piece of legislation into place.

Hii! Thanks so much for checking out our blog. Sorry for any confusion. Unfortunately there is no good news here. We just wanted to express our appreciation for all the hard work these great orgs do, EVEN when government steps in and causes a great accomplishment to be over turned, and we are asking everyone to please show some love to these orgs as well. Let them know what amazing work they're doing.

First, the people voted to have laws banning downed animals for slaughter.

Now, the courts have overturned this law...

What happened...?

Yes, credit should be given to those that helped bring about the ban on downed animals for slaughter.
Now, more work will be needed to reverse the change.

Maybe the big corporations had something to do with this...

Heartbreaking that such an important decision was reversed. The animals lose... We lose... And all that brilliant effort for naught. Not fair. Not good.

Nonetheless, three hearty cheers for all those who fought the good fight! Admirable in their dedication and conviction. Well done.

Tx Saving, for this post, and thanks BarbCat (you're supposed to be taking it easy!!) for the fwd.

Damn greedy bastards...its sickning and sad when lobbyists influence the supreme court! WHY else would they have overturned this law? why should they care if animals are suffering and are going to be murdered anyhow..who cares that they are so sick that they cant even walk and they are going to be put into our food supply and used for our own pets food..who cares as long as corporations and politicans get their damn money....JUDGEMENT DAY IS COMING PEOPLE. Bless you PETA and other orgs who actually care about these animals.

Thank you so much to each of you for your most supportive comments! We all know how significant a fight it is to implement change in the area of factory farming. We are up against a lot of power. But! Just like these organizations, we will all stay focused and one by one, be heard and win.

We all have done things and didn't get credit for it. In this case, I like a lot of people knew who the players were in getting this bill passed. I've signed many petitions on this issue. I have to admire those on this website that send out green stars 'anonymous'. They do a good deed and don't need recognition for it. I'm not quite there yet, but am striving to get to this level of humanity..
