The federal government and a majority of states prohibit sales of raw milk to the public, claiming it is responsible for hundreds of people sickened in the past decade with salmonella, E. coli, Listeria monocytogenes and other bacteria.

I raised my children on raw milk and wish it was available to me without having to keep cows.
What the article doesn't mention is the contamination of milk at the processing plants has sickened many more people than a few farmers selling milk directly.
Commercial raw milk dairies maintain much higher standards than those which rely on pasteurization.

What they need is more inspecting when it comes out of the farmers bulk tank going into the Milk Carrier.. some farmers sneak in milk that should be only for cottage cheese.. there is an lists of what kind of milk is what when they come & get it from the farmers.. if the cows has mastitis than I think it goes for cheese.. I have drank raw cows milk when I was pregnant with my first born & then breast feed drinking it.. it made her rather chunky & I was told to stop breast feeding.. but I feel its from the start that the problems is.. as a milk farmers sister-in-law..

I would rather drink raw milk than the Monsanto chemically treated milk.

I was raised on a dairy farm and we always drank raw milk. We also sold raw milk at the farm. I never got sick and none of our customers did either.

It's ironic that the CA Secretary of Agriculture is anti-healthy raw milk, yet he is pro-toxic spray of the SF Bay Area. Another official w/ his snout up lobbyists and legislatures butts. CA has another raw milk hearing on 4/15 in Sacramento - hopefully w/ the help of WHole Foods CEO and other planned pro-raw milk advocates, this can be settled in raw milks favor in CA - once and for all.

If the gov doesn't want us to have it, it must be healthy!
