During his first visit to Sub-Saharan Africa as president, Barack Obama today gave an historic speech before Ghana's parliament. Devoting one quarter of his speech to address the deadly public health voids in many African countries.

I agree... But government run health care will decide who lives and who dies... If your mom or dad is too old... Gov will decide it's too expensive to keep them alive....

If that is your impression of "government" run health systems then I am surprised and saddened . My grandmother was not given that treatment in the UK when she needed major surgery and health care at the age of 86 she was very well taken care of. Likewise my Father at 82 in Adelaide South Australia recently had to have heart problems investigated again under government health care and they could not do enough for him. The care was superb going above and beyond anything he had ever imagined. So no they don't just leave you to die just because you are old and passed your used by date!!!! And knowing that my parents will never have to make a decision about medication, health care, food and paying their bills is very gratifying. Unlike here where any coverage can bankrupt you. We shall go home to Australia shortly because there is no consideration for anyone's well being in this country at all
